A senior Iranian commander has announced that the country’s armed forces will\u00a0stage \u201cpowerful\u201d complex and inclusive military drills enlisting the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid, commander of the Islamic Republic\u2019s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, made the announcement on Wednesday, attending a meeting of military top brass from the Iranian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Islamic Republic\u2019s Armed Forces will perform a set of powerful defensive and offensive maneuvers over the pending days and weeks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to Rashid, the Army and the IRGC consistently take part in the joint drills, especially throughout the second half of the Persian calendar year, across the country\u2019s various terrains, its airspace, and waters.<\/p>\n

The maneuvers, the commander noted, deploy defensive and offensive military hardware, and would take place \u201ctowards confronting the enemies of the Iranian nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Every year, approximately 30 extensive military maneuvers go underway, which are directed and navigated by the Headquarters that ensures their optimal implementation, the official stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince implementation of the maneuvers translate into testing the Armed Forces in the face of threats, and they go underway with the aim of ensuring the country\u2019s defensive and offensive preparedness to crush the enemy, the drills are devised rigorously and resourcefully and performed in a serious manner as a means of taking the enemy off guard.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Israeli regime\u2019s skies defenseless against Iran\u2019s attacks\u2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Rashid said the Israeli regime had suffered from illusion and committed a miscalculation concerning the Islamic Republic, noting that the country\u2019s powerful offensive operations against the regime, especially its Operation True Promise II, \u201csimply displayed no more than a small fraction of the Armed Forces\u2019 offensive capability.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ballistic missiles that were fired [during the operation] struck military sites and pre-determined targets, proving to our commanders and the entire world that the occupied Palestinian territories\u2019 skies are, contrary to the regime\u2019s media propaganda, open and defenseless in the face of our attacks.\u201d<\/p>\n

The commander underlined that based on the Islamic Republic\u2019s defensive doctrine, the country never acts as the initiator of any war in the region.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the upcoming powerful drills are to take place in line with ensuring the country\u2019s defensive and offensive readiness to confront whatever sort of threat, Rashid asserted.<\/p>\n
