Donald Trump has said he \u201cvehemently\u201d disagrees with the decision to permit Ukraine to strike targets within Russia with US-supplied long-range missiles.<\/p>\n

The president-elect said the policy switch by Joe Biden\u2019s administration<\/a> had escalated the war between Russia and Ukraine, and \u201cmade things worse\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI disagree very vehemently with sending missiles hundreds of miles into Russia,\u201d Mr Trump told Time in an interview to mark being named the magazine\u2019s person of the year for a second time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are we doing that? We\u2019re just escalating this war and making it worse. That should not have been allowed to be done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Biden, the outgoing president, took the decision last month on the use of Atacms rockets within Russia<\/a> by Ukrainian forces.<\/p>\n

Kyiv had begged Washington for months for permission for such long-range strikes but was repeatedly rebuffed because of fears over escalation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The White House eventually agreed to the long-running request in response to North Korean soldiers being deployed<\/a> on the battlefield by Moscow.<\/p>\n

It also prompted Britain and France to drop restrictions on the use of their Storm Shadow and Scalp-eg cruise missiles on military targets inside Russia.<\/p>\n

Almost immediately after the first strikes occurred on Russian soil, Vladimir Putin threatened the use of a new type of intercontinental ballistic missile <\/a>against Ukraine in a retaliatory strike.<\/p>\n

The Russian president eventually made a televised address to announce that the Oreshnik missile<\/a> had been used for the first time in an attack on a weapons production plant in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro.<\/p>\n

US officials on Wednesday warned that Russia could be preparing to fire another hypersonic ballistic missile at Ukrainian territory.<\/p>\n

Regarding the Telegraph\u2019s claim that North Korean troops were \u201cdeployed on the battlefield by Moscow\u201d: readers will note that we\u2019ve heard nothing more since those reports first appeared weeks ago.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because Moscow never deployed any North Korean troops in Ukraine. In fact claiming they were sent there is a complete misrepresentation of what really happened. Yes, North Korean troops were in Russia but only to take part in annual training exercises in Siberia, not Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The Western media simply distorted reports that North Korean troops were training in Russia by claiming that they were preparing for deployment in the Ukrainian conflict. They weren\u2019t and that\u2019s why we\u2019ve heard nothing more about North Korean troops in Ukraine since then.<\/p>\n

I’m not trying to defend Putin or North Korea but these reports were entirely speculative. All they did is provide more evidence that the Western mainstream media (MSM) works hand-in-glove with Western intelligence.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless it\u2019s interesting that the MSM, who were once so eager to belittle Trump are now taking an unexpected new approach in their presentation of him. With TIME Magazine even hailing Trump as \u201dPerson of the Year\u201d.<\/p>\n

That’s quite a turn around when he hasn\u2019t even been inaugurated yet.<\/p>\n
