The commander of the Iranian Navy has hailed the force\u2019s comprehensive surveillance over the American warships that sail across regional waters.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe United States aircraft carrier as well as 16-strong destroyers and frigates that are present in the region are being constantly surveilled by our reconnaissance drones,\u201d Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said on Monday.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are over their heads,\u201d he added, referring to the warships in question.<\/p>\n The Iranian surveillance aircraft were visible even to the naked eye, the commander said, describing the visibility as a means of the Islamic Republic\u2019s \u201csaying to the Americans that this region is not your place and we maintain all of your movements under observation.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a very important fact that we enjoy the capability to surveil the enemy even at sea,\u201d Irani said, noting that this matter had turned into \u201ca cause for concern for the Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n The commander commended the Navy for its having managed to provide security for both Iranian vessels and those of the countries that have reached out to the force for protection, asking it to escort their ships.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Navy escorts oil and commercial cargoes from Venezuela\u2019s coastline to the Americas, Europe, and Africa, confronting whatever violation that could take place against our ships,\u201d Irani noted.<\/p>\n He cited the case of Iranian naval forces\u2019 recent recapture and confiscation of an oil embargo and the vessel bearing it that had been impounded by the United States, although the vessel had been renamed by the Americans.<\/p>\n The commander further asserted that the Islamic Republic\u2019s Navy was after \u201cputting the strength of [the country\u2019s] Islamic establishment on display\u00a0far across the [international] oceans.\u201d<\/p>\n The force was trying to have its endeavors serve as a \u201cpoint of strength for the Islamic Republic\u2019s establishment,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
