Women are \u201ctransphobic\u201d if they do not want to share a toilet with a\u00a0transgender\u00a0colleague,\u00a0NHS\u00a0staff have been told. The Mail <\/em>has the story<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mandatory training introduced in August for NHS England employees also claimed that \u201cpeople\u201d rather than women or mothers become pregnant and take maternity leave.<\/p>\n

Another passage suggested that it is discriminatory for nurses or doctors to pray for unwell patients.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s rights campaigners wrote to NHS Chief Executive Amanda Pritchard to criticise the \u201cpartisan and ideological\u201d training and demand that it be amended earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Last night, after being contacted by the Mail<\/em>, the NHS admitted that it has since withdrawn the training module and that it will be replaced \u201cin the next few weeks\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 23-page document \u2013 titled \u2018Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Human Rights Skills\u2019 \u2013 stated that \u201call staff, including off payroll workers, are obliged to complete the modules\u201d.<\/p>\n

The training manual, which included five \u201ccase studies\u201d, required staff to answer 10 multiple-choice questions to test whether they are discriminatory.<\/p>\n

In one section headed \u201ctransphobic colleague\u201d, it gives an example of a member of NHS staff who does not wish to share a bathroom with a trans person.<\/p>\n

The document states that this is \u201cnot acceptable\u201d and that asking whether trans staff can instead use gender-neutral or disabled toilets could constitute \u201cillegal harassment\u201d.<\/p>\n

It adds: \u201cIt is always an individual\u2019s choice to use whichever facilities match how they identify.\u201d<\/p>\n

The document was shared with the Mail <\/em>by an NHS worker concerned about the training but who said they were under pressure from bosses to complete it.<\/p>\n

The whistleblower revealed: \u201cPassing this training is required in order to progress your pay and career, and ultimately even to be employed by NHS England.\u201d<\/p>\n
