The idea that Iran would want to assassinate Donald Trump is predictable even if it is improbable. Tehran already has enough problems with mounting tensions with Israel. The last thing it would want is to give America a pretext to join Israel on a military campaign against the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s exactly what would happen if Tehran were found to be involved in an assassination attempt on Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

The only beneficiaries of an assassination attempt would, of course, be Israel and they wouldn\u2019t even have to try too hard to make it look convincing.<\/p>\n

As with \u201cSaddam Hussein\u2019s Weapons of Mass Destruction\u201d, little hard evidence would be required. All the war planners would need would be repeated media allegations of Iranian involvement in the assassination attempt to convince the U.S. public to support military action against Iran.<\/p>\n

Just as once happened with Saddam Hussein and his alleged “Weapons of Mass Destruction”.<\/p>\n

Will it work?<\/p>\n

Much has changed in the last twenty years and we would like to think that the Western public is not as gullible as it once was. Some bitter lessons were learned in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both conflicts helped expose the duplicity of Western powers and the growing reach of the Internet has further assisted in this.<\/p>\n

So things make not go the way the warmongers plan. Ed.<\/p>\n

Trump team requests military-level security citing threats from Iran<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Former President Trump\u2019s team has requested added security<\/a>, including military aircraft, to further protect the GOP nominee in the final stretch<\/a> of the 2024 presidential election, citing threats from Iran.<\/p>\n

Trump campaign co-manager Susie Wiles made a bevy of requests to Secret Service director Ronald Rowe Jr., including providing military aircraft that can shoot down surface-to-air missiles as the former president campaigns in battleground states, The Associated Press (AP) reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The development was first reported<\/a> by The New York Times.<\/p>\n

The campaign\u2019s request also included armored vehicles, expansion of temporary flight restrictions over Trump\u2019s residencies and rallies, and additional funding for local law enforcement agencies and the U.S. Secret Service (USSS). Wiles asked the USSS to pre-place the ballistic glass in all seven swing-states at Trump\u2019s outdoor rallies.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s team is looking to protect the Republican nominee on the same level as President Biden.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, the former President is receiving the highest levels of protection,\u201d Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement to The Hill.\u00a0\u201cThe Secret Service will remain vigilant and continue to adjust and enhance its protective posture as needed to mitigate evolving threats.\u201d<\/p>\n

The push for additional protection comes after the former president was the target of two assassination attempts<\/a> in the last few months. During a rally in Pennsylvania<\/a> in July, his ear was grazed by bullet<\/a>. In another incident last month, a man was arrested and charged<\/a> for allegedly pushing the muzzle of a rifle<\/a> through the fence of Trump\u2019s golf course in Florida.<\/p>\n

In late September, Trump was also briefed<\/a> by intelligence officials about Iran\u2019s alleged threat against his life, a month after a Pakistani national with alleged links to the Iranian government was charged<\/a> with plotting to commit a political assassination in the U.S.<\/p>\n

\u201cAssistance from the Department of Defense is regularly provided for the former President\u2019s protection, to include explosive ordnance disposal, canine units and airlift transportation,\u201d Guglielmi said in a written statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cOther enhancements the Secret Service has made include Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) over the former President\u2019s residence and when he travels,\u201d he added. \u201cAdditionally, the former President is receiving the highest level of technical security assets, which include unmanned aerial vehicles, counter unmanned aerial surveillance systems, ballistics and other advanced technology systems.\u201d<\/p>\n

His comments come after the House and Senate passed legislation<\/a> earlier this month to bolster security<\/a> around political candidates, a move seen as a win for the Trump campaign.<\/p>\n
