{"id":293490,"date":"2024-08-22T07:10:12","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T07:10:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=293490"},"modified":"2024-08-24T05:48:28","modified_gmt":"2024-08-24T05:48:28","slug":"nielsen-dnc-television-ratings-crash-22-from-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=293490","title":{"rendered":"Nielsen: DNC Television Ratings Crash 22% from 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/author\/whusebo\/\"><strong>Wendell Huseb\u00f8<\/strong><\/a><strong> \u2013 Breibart.com Aug 21, 2024<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The television ratings of the first night of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) sunk 22 percent from 2016, according to Nielsen.<\/p>\n<p>The ratings crash suggests that Vice President Kamala Harris is far less popular than the media purported.<\/p>\n<p>About 20 million people <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/08\/20\/dnc-ratings-monday-biden-harris\">watched<\/a> the first night of the DNC, up from 2020\u2019s virtual convention but severely down from 2016, Axios reported:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Around 19.1 million viewers watched the DNC live from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ET during the president\u2019s speech.<\/li>\n<li>MSNBC drew the most viewers across all networks with 4.6 million, followed by CNN (3.2 million), ABC (2.8 million), Fox News (2.4 million), CBS (2.0 million) and NBC (1.8 million), according to fast national data provided by MSNBC.<\/li>\n<li>Monday marked the network\u2019s largest DNC night 1 viewership ever, a spokesperson said.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ratings crash came after the media spent countless hours hyping Harris\u2019s \u201chistoric\u201d candidacy.<\/p>\n<p>Television networks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2024-election\/2024\/08\/19\/study-harris-gets-84-positive-coverage-while-avoiding-media\/\">gave<\/a>\u00a0Harris 84 percent \u201cpositive coverage\u201d since she joined the presidential race, a Media Research Center study found Monday, and they produced 89 percent negative coverage of former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>In turn, 70 percent of registered Democrats\u00a0and independents who voted for President Joe Biden in 2020 are mostly in the dark about many of Harris\u2019s controversial and radical positions, a recent survey\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/rich-noyes\/2024\/08\/14\/exclusive-mrc-poll-most-dem-voters-dont-know-about-harriss\">showed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Day two of the convention did not appear to go any better than the first.
