{"id":293473,"date":"2024-08-22T07:15:43","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T07:15:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=293473"},"modified":"2024-08-24T05:50:22","modified_gmt":"2024-08-24T05:50:22","slug":"taxpayer-funded-posters-in-london-proclaim-hey-straight-white-men-pass-the-power","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=293473","title":{"rendered":"Taxpayer-Funded Posters in London Proclaim \u201cHey Straight White Men Pass The Power!\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Paul Joseph Watson \u2013 modernity.news Aug 21, 2024<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong>A taxpayer-funded group is once again putting up posters around London that say, \u201cHey Straight White Men Pass The Power!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, really.<\/p>\n<p>The posters, which originally appeared in Southwark, London and other areas of the UK in 2022, appear to have popped up once again, with an image posted to X showing one in Acton, London.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Billboards saying &quot;Hey straight white men, pass the power!&quot; are appearing all over London, just to make sure you know it&#39;s not happening and it&#39;s a good thing that it is. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/BMZFUKJqRg\">pic.twitter.com\/BMZFUKJqRg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; RAW EGG NATIONALIST (@Babygravy9) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Babygravy9\/status\/1825889829814431758?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 20, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>They are the work of an art project called the Artichoke Trust and were designed by a black artist from Marseille called Nadina who previously produced \u2018street art\u2019 that proclaimed, \u2018Never forget George Floyd\u2019 and \u2018Nobody is free until Palestine is free\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResearch from the Taxpayers\u2019 Alliance claimed (the group) had been given \u00a33million from a government art grant,\u201d reported the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11084863\/Anger-taxpayer-funded-charity-erects-Hey-Straight-White-Men-Pass-Power-billboards.html\">Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Respondents questioned precisely what \u2018power\u2019 straight white men were supposed to give up in a society where they are already disenfranchised to the extent that large, partially government-funded billboards in major cities scream at them for merely existing.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHey straight white men, pass the power!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anti-White billboards seen across Britain were tax-funded. <\/p>\n<p>Complete absurdity. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/s0vuUXM5oi\">pic.twitter.com\/s0vuUXM5oi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; iamyesyouareno (@iamyesyouareno) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/iamyesyouareno\/status\/1823977076598190339?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 15, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>When the posters initially appeared two years ago, they drew the ire of author Douglas Murray, who asked who exactly white people were supposed to \u2018pass the power\u2019 to.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I see such a piece of public insult, a number of things cross my otherwise tranquil mind. The first is a desire to put a foot through the billboard in question,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spectator.co.uk\/article\/why-should-straight-white-men-pass-the-power-2\/\">wrote<\/a> Murray.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe second is to wonder whether Southwark council, the Mayor of London or anyone else would permit any similarly bigoted public messages if they happened to turn it round the other way. \u2018Oy, black blokes. Give us your rights!\u2019, for example. Or: \u2018Hey, gays, hand over the cash!\u2019 Those billboards would most likely be hate crimes, and the mayor of London, Southwark council, the General Synod and everyone else would immediately be out to condemn them as such.
