When I recall my mental habit of seeking a woman as the “key” to my happiness\u00a0and masculine development — I feel both duped & stupid.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Western society is a sex cult. Sexual intercourse is considered\u00a0the highest experience life has to offer.\u00a0Orgasm is a sacrament.\u00a0No wonder we place undue importance on a “relationship.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

But, our most important relationship is with ourSelves<\/a> (i.e. our best self.)\u00a0When we prioritize other people, we are negating ourselves.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I got 637,000,000 links just now when I googled “relationships.”<\/p>\n

The first one, from\u00a0Psychology Today,\u00a0<\/a>begins: “For most people, romantic relationships<\/em> are the most meaningful element in their lives.”<\/p>\n

This is our PRIMARY brainwashing, delivered by Hollywood. \u00a0The plot is always: \u00a0find love, have sex, live happily ever after. “Love” is the religion. Sex is the holy sacrament.<\/p>\n

We are programmed to be co-dependent. Every song <\/a>is a variation of “you are my sunshine” and “I can’t live without you!”<\/p>\n

When I consider the energy I expended in this quest for “meaning”, I feel betrayed.\u00a0Especially considering how stupid, deceitful and vain some of the women were.<\/p>\n

When I recall my mental habit of seeing women as the “key” to my happiness and masculine development- I feel both duped and stupid.<\/p>\n

I derive considerable satisfaction from my marriage.\u00a0\u00a0But “most meaningful element in my life”?<\/p>\n

No, I wouldn’t jeopardize it with such expectations.<\/p>\n

The problem isn’t with my “relationship.” \u00a0Romantic\u00a0relationships were not designed to be “the most meaningful element in our lives.”<\/p>\n

Romance should be a small but important part of our lives. Maybe 25% for men; 50% for women. (Yes, I believe women should have more invested in love.)<\/p>\n
