Iran\u2019s Judiciary says\u00a0the United States is liable for prosecution as it has played an “undeniable role” in supporting and leading Israel which is engaged in acts of terror and mischief.<\/strong><\/p>\n Asghar Jahangir, the Judiciary spokesman, made the remarks on Tuesday, almost one week after\u00a0Ismail Haniyeh, head of the\u00a0political bureau\u00a0of the Palestinian Hamas resistance group, was assassinated in the Iranian capital Tehran.<\/p>\n Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)\u00a0says\u00a0the assassination\u00a0was designed\u00a0and executed\u00a0by Israel, with support from the US administration.<\/p>\n Haniyeh\u2019s assassination in Tehran followed another\u00a0assassination\u00a0by the Zionist regime that claimed the life of Fuad Shukr, a senior commander of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, in Beirut.<\/p>\n Israel’s\u00a0terrorist acts come at a time when the occupying regime is waging a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, which has killed 39,623 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in the past 10 months.<\/p>\n Jahangir said Haniyeh and Shukr were martyred in \u201cdesperate and brutal\u201d operations by Israel’s fake and ominous regime, whose survival hinges on \u201corganized assassinations and great acts of mischief against oppressed people.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe US\u2019s role in supporting and leading this evil regime is undeniable, and it provides the ground for legal and criminal prosecution of the government [in Washington] in international bodies,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n The spokesman further emphasized that the Islamic Republic will utilize all its domestic and international capacities to respond to Haniyeh\u2019s assassination.<\/p>\n
