The politician, who has a life-long record of pro-peace and pro-Palestinian activism,\u00a0made the revelation in an interview with independent journalist Matt Kennard <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/XbmcNI0My_0?si=sbvU8y7LbHpFkVjI\">published<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<div id=\"attachment_121560\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/corbyn_victory.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-121560\" class=\"wpa-warning wpa-image-missing-alt wp-image-121560 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/corbyn_victory.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" data-warning=\"Missing alt text\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/corbyn_victory.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/corbyn_victory-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-121560\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jeremy Corbyn, ousted from the Labour Party because he wouldn&#8217;t bend to Zionist demands.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Kennard asked Corbyn whether he was shocked by the level of support that Starmer and other senior Labour figures had offered to Israel in its ongoing military campaign in Gaza. He said he was not surprised <em>\u201cbecause I know where many of these people are coming from.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDuring one extremely hostile meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party Committee, they confronted me and said: \u2018Will you give a blanket undertaking that you as party leader and potentially prime minister will automatically support any military action Israel undertakes?\u2019 And I said no,\u201d<\/em> he recalled.<\/p>\n<p>The pressure that the Israeli government exerts on the party <em>\u201cis huge,\u201d<\/em> according to Corbyn, as is the influence of the pro-Israel lobby on British politics in general.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZB_8l8b4Z9Q?si=l9wDZdEjlXdxevqI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n&#8212;<\/div>\n<p>The attack on Israel by the Palestinian militant group Hamas last October that triggered the current escalation <em>\u201cwas wrong,\u201d<\/em> Corbyn said. But the <em>\u201cresponse of killing tens of thousands of people doesn\u2019t bring anybody back and has created the hatred and the wars of tomorrow and the year after.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Corbyn specifically rebuked his successor for an interview with LBC days after the Hamas attack, in which Starmer claimed that in order to <em>\u201cdefend itself,\u201d<\/em> Israel <em>\u201chas the right\u201d<\/em> to cut water and power supplies to Gaza.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5HQYfsUAf3s?si=JBZcRz7ZSJe1Fack\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n&#8212;<\/div>\n<p>Those remarks <em>\u201ctotally shocked\u201d<\/em> Corbyn, he said, because <em>\u201cit\u2019s absolutely clear in every aspect of law, never mind morality, that you don\u2019t bomb schools, you don\u2019t destroy water supplies, you don\u2019t cut off electricity.\u201d<\/em> Contrary to Starmer\u2019s assessment, such actions constitute <em>\u201ca war crime,\u201d<\/em> he added.<\/p>\n<p>The interview covered the role of the UK in the US <em>\u201cimperial project,\u201d<\/em> as Kennard put it, as well as Corbyn\u2019s attempt to wind down the <em>\u201cspecial relations\u201d<\/em> between the two nations, and what the snap election in early July may bring for Britons.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/599685-starmer-corbyn-israel-pledge\/\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Zionist state\u2019s influence on the party that is expected to win the forthcoming UK general election is \u201chuge\u201d, says the party\u2019s former leader Jeremy Corbyn.
