With unimpeded access this man made starvation can still be averted,\u201d Lazzarini said on X on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>His statement comes after Israel denied for a second time this week a food convoy to the north.<\/p>\n<p>The last time UNRWA was able to send food aid to the north \u201cwas nearly 2 months ago,\u201d Lazzarani stated. \u201cI\u2019ve said it many times: this is a man made hunger &amp; looming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palestinechronicle.com\/catastrophic-food-insecurity-un-officials-warn-of-famine-in-gaza\/\">famine <\/a>which can still be averted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The UNRWA chief emphasized that the Israeli authorities \u201cmust allow delivering food aid at scale to the north including via UNRWA, the largest humanitarian organisation in Gaza.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeanwhile, children will continue to die of malnutrition &amp; dehydration under our watch.
