The purported \u2018pleas from Biden\u2019 are a mere face saving ploy. No doubt invented by the White House to divert attention from America\u2019s seeming lack of influence on this matter.<\/p>\n

Because at the end of the day if Biden, or whoever pulls his strings, really wanted to end the slaughter in Gaza they could do so with a simple phone call.<\/p>\n

The U.S. arms, equips and bankrolls Israel to the tune of billions every year<\/a>. Israel’s war machine is entirely dependent on Washington\u2019s generosity to continue as it does.<\/p>\n

So if the Biden administration REALLY WANTED to end the slaughter in Gaza it could simply tell Israel to halt its campaign. Either that or the U.S. would halt funding.<\/p>\n

It’s that simple.<\/p>\n

However, that won\u2019t happen and the Guardian doesn\u2019t mention what is becoming obvious to anyone who can think for themselves. It won\u2019t happen because Zionists control U.S. foreign policy, particularly when it comes to U.S. Middle East policy.<\/p>\n

Zionists also own or control most of the West\u2019s mainstream media, which is why the Guardian doesn\u2019t mention how the U.S. could end Israel\u2019s campaign overnight.<\/p>\n

Thus Zionist management of public perception is not even a matter for debate and it makes the Western mainstream media complicit in the ongoing slaughter in Palestine. Ed.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu \u2018determined\u2019 to carry out Rafah assault despite pleas from Biden<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has said he remains determined to carry out a ground invasion of Gaza\u2019s southern city of Rafah \u2013 where many displaced Palestinians are sheltering \u2013 despite the misgivings of US president Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu told lawmakers on Tuesday he had made it \u201csupremely clear\u201d to the US president \u201cthat we are determined to complete the elimination of these battalions in Rafah, and there\u2019s no way to do that except by going in on the ground\u201d.<\/p>\n

After the two leaders spoke on Monday, White House national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said that the US believed that storming Rafah would be a \u201cmistake\u201d and that Israel could achieve its military aims by other means.<\/p>\n

In his comments on Tuesday, Netanyahu said that he would wait to hear proposals from the US \u201cout of respect to the president\u201d about ways to protect the civilian population in Rafah before ordering the operation.<\/p>\n

But he said he did not see any alternative to a ground offensive if Israel was to carry out its goal of destroying Hamas.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a debate with the Americans over the need to enter Rafah, not over the need to eliminate Hamas,\u201d Netanyahu said.<\/p>\n

Israeli officials have said that Rafah, located on the Egyptian border, is Hamas\u2019 last major stronghold in Gaza. An estimated 1.5 million Palestinians \u2013 over half of Gaza\u2019s population \u2013 have taken refuge in Rafah after fleeing fighting elsewhere in the territory.<\/p>\n
