Things are looking bad for Israel, not just militarily but economically too.<\/p>\n

The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) has seen what remains of its once proud reputation in tatters as it struggles against a relatively lightly armed, yet determined militia.<\/p>\n

This hasn\u2019t been helped by the fact that the army that once boasted of being the \u201cmost ethical army in history<\/a>\u201d has now killed more than 26,000 Palestinians civilians, the majority of whom were women and children<\/a>.<\/p>\n

No big surprise then that the adverse publicity from the Gaza conflict has generated rising public hostility toward Israel across the globe.<\/p>\n

To make matter worse, as the conflict has dragged on the credit ratings agency Moodys has been forced to reconsider Israel\u2019s rating.<\/p>\n

This is not to repeat ‘anti-Semitic’ tropes about Jewish money lenders but to underline the fact that the future for Israel as we now know it looks increasingly uncertain. In essence what we see in Israel is a working example of collective karma at work. Ed.<\/p>\n

Moody\u2019s planning to downgrade Israel\u2019s credit rating due to war \u2014 report<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The US ratings agency Moody\u2019s is planning to downgrade Israel\u2019s credit rating due to the war with Hamas, the Ynet news site reports.<\/p>\n

Ynet says it has learned the ratings agency plans to take the step soon, but did not cite sources.<\/p>\n

In October, Moody\u2019s announced that it had put the Israeli government\u2019s A1 credit ratings on review for downgrade, citing the \u201cunexpected and violent conflict between Israel and Hamas.\u201d<\/p>\n

The severity of the conflict, sparked by the deadly shock assault by Hamas on southern Israel on October 7, \u201craises the possibility of longer lasting and material credit impact,\u201d Moody\u2019s said at the time.<\/p>\n
