The company&#8217;s collapse is symptomatic of our own decaying society<\/p>\n<p>Most Americans, and certainly most American men, have been readers of<em> Sports Illustrated<\/em> at one point in their life. For seventy years, <em>Sports Illustrated<\/em> presented a human interest side to sports and took its readers behind the scenes with an in-depth look at the athletes, coaches, and other people who populated the world of professional, college, and even high school athletics.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of its inappropriate swimsuit edition, it did so in a family-friendly way.
