A vast network of underground tunnels built by the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip has caused \u201csignificant casualties\u201d among invading Israeli forces and made Israel\u2019s victory in its genocidal war on the besieged strip \u201cless certain,\u201d according to an American news publication.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An article run by Foreign Policy said \u201cthe tunnels have unsettled the [Israeli] forces, caused significant casualties, delayed the end of the war, and made victory less certain.\u201d<\/p>\n

It added that the tunnels\u2019 network is \u201ca crucial part of the military infrastructure\u201d of the Hamas resistance movement, adding that the Israeli attempts to destroy it have been \u201ca painstakingly slow and cumbersome\u201d process.<\/p>\n

Despite Israel\u2019s possession of \u201cthe most advanced military capabilities in the detection, mapping, neutralization, and destruction of tunnels\u201d, the article said, the regime has so far failed to either \u201cdeter Hamas from digging\u201d or \u201clessen the challenge of fighting in a subterranean environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Foreign Policy, even \u201cthe most specialized units\u201d of the Israeli military have \u201csuffered losses because of booby-trapped tunnel entrances.\u201d<\/p>\n

The US magazine said the tunnels\u2019 networks have become \u201cdeeper and more hardened\u201d, describing the resistance group\u2019s \u201csurvival underground for this long as unprecedented.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHamas\u2019 growing reliance on the tunnels and its elaborate construction effort have paid off. Never in the history of tunnel warfare has a defender been able to spend months in such confined spaces. The digging itself, the innovative ways Hamas has made use of the tunnels, and the group\u2019s survival underground for this long have been unprecedented.\u201d<\/p>\n

The article ruled out that Israel can score any victory in the current war as \u201cit has become clear that Israel cannot possibly detect or map the entirety of Hamas\u2019 tunnel network.\u201d<\/p>\n

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime\u2019s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.<\/p>\n

Since the start of the offensive, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 22,853 Palestinians and injured more than 58,416 others.<\/p>\n

Thousands more are also missing and presumed dead under the rubble in Gaza, which is under \u201ccomplete siege\u201d by Israel.<\/p>\n
