{"id":274122,"date":"2023-10-05T20:06:03","date_gmt":"2023-10-05T20:06:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=274122"},"modified":"2023-10-07T06:08:20","modified_gmt":"2023-10-07T06:08:20","slug":"drone-attack-on-syrian-military-academy-kills-at-least-100-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=274122","title":{"rendered":"Drone attack on Syrian military academy kills at least 100 people"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Press TV \u2013 Oct 5, 2023<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong>A drone attack on a Syrian military academy in the country\u2019s western city of Homs has killed at least 100 people and left many others wounded, reports say.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The army confirmed that several drones\u201d targeted \u201cthe graduation ceremony\u201d attended by cadets&#8217; families in Homs on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>It said that \u201carmed terrorist organizations targeted the graduation ceremony e attack was carried out by &#8220;terrorist groups.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The military has not provided any casualty numbers but Syria&#8217;s state television said the government announced a three-day state of mourning, starting on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Syrian armed forces said the attack was \u201cunprecedented,\u201d adding it\u00a0was carried out by \u201cexplosive laden drones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The army promised to respond \u201cwith full force and determination, warning that those who planned and executed the attack \u201cwill pay dearly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were dozens of wounded soldiers, with critical injuries among the invited families, including women and children, in addition to a number of college students participating in the graduation,\u201d the defense ministry said in a separate statement.<\/p>\n<p>It also said that \u201cterrorist organizations supported by well-known international parties\u201d have carried out the attack.<\/p>\n<p>No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.<\/p>\n<p>Observers say the attack was launched from areas northwest of Homs.
