We need you,\u201d Infantino said during a news conference Wednesday in Auckland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s never too late to do the right thing. Come to watch the matches. We need full stadiums to warm us all up,\u201d he added, emphasizing the significance of enthusiastic support from the home crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Infantino was FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura, who echoed his sentiments and encouraged Kiwis not to delay in securing their tickets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe still have tickets available for some matches, so my only plea is don\u2019t wait until the last moment,\u201d Samoura said.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the efforts to entice fans to attend the matches, the accounting firm Xero, an official partner of the Women\u2019s World Cup, offered 20,000 free tickets for games in New Zealand\u2019s four host cities, according to CNN.<\/p>\n<p>While the complimentary ticket allocation has been fully utilized, the remaining tickets left unsold indicate interest in the event remains low.<\/p>\n<p>The exact reason is unclear.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/womens-world-cup-new-zealand-ticket-sales-b8c7af5b118962c8dc31e56e0de56c6c\">The Associated Press<\/a> noted that the country\u2019s Football Ferns have never won a World Cup group match.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA larger problem,\u201d it said, \u201cis that soccer is not generally a widely supported sport in New Zealand and attracting fans to stadiums in the coldest months of the year was always going to be a hard sell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the United States, the women\u2019s soccer team has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/womens-soccer-team-skips-representing-united-states-olympic-opening-ceremony\/\">alienated<\/a> many conservative fans with liberal political rants and social justice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/us-womens-soccer-players-use-wristbands-field-political-protest-texas\/\">advocacy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Infantino, in his unwavering support for the women\u2019s game, continued to promote the sport in an effort to sell more tickets.<\/p>\n<p>He confidently addressed the skepticism people have for women\u2019s soccer, saying, \u201cMany people \u2026 still believe that women\u2019s football is not, you know, great, a great game or it\u2019s not so entertaining or it\u2019s a kind of a bad copy of men\u2019s football, or some stuff like that. Well, when they watch a game for the first time, they will actually see that it\u2019s a fantastic game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Infantino\u2019s claim that women\u2019s soccer is on an equal footing with the men\u2019s game has been undermined by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/us-womens-soccer-team-trash-talks-club-retirees-ends-losing-12-0\/\">matches<\/a> where top women\u2019s teams have lost to amateur men and even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/soccer\/news\/a-dallas-fc-under-15-boys-squad-beat-the-u-s-womens-national-team-in-a-scrimmage\/\">boys<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the significance of this Women\u2019s World Cup, FIFA has moved to bring players\u2019 pay closer to what the men receive in the World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>FIFA is ensuring direct payments to the female participants, marking the first time in history that such compensation is guaranteed. Each player participating in the tournament will receive a minimum of $30,000 from a record $110 million prize pot.<\/p>\n<p>According to a March <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fifa.com\/womens-football\/news\/gianni-infantino-announces-significant-investment-increase-for-fifa-womens\">news release<\/a>, Infantino said that \u201ca total package of USD 152 million would be on offer at this year\u2019s tournament \u2013 three times more than at the previous FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup in France four years ago and over 10 times more than the amount offered at the 2015 tournament in Canada.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The move reflects the efforts of the USWNT and others in lobbying for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/espn-caught-using-extremely-dishonest-tactic-smear-ex-host-now-works-fox-news\/\">equal pay<\/a>\u00a0despite the undeniable reality that women\u2019s soccer generates less revenue and has a smaller fan base than men\u2019s soccer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2023\/07\/fifa-begs-fans-right-thing-buy-tickets-womens\/\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In case you haven\u2019t noticed, there is a campaign to promote women\u2019s soccer.
