The Ukrainian counteroffensive has failed to make any headway. This is obviously good news for the Russians and in more ways than may seem obvious.<\/p>\n

At the start of the war, Ukraine\u2019s armed forces had been built up by their Western supporters to being the second biggest in Europe<\/a>. After Russia, they were bigger than Germany and France\u2019s forces combined.<\/p>\n

Ukraine\u2019s forces had been built up in anticipation of an eventual clash with Russia. Or so Ukraine\u2019s Western backers planned.<\/p>\n

Had the most recent counteroffensive been even partially successful it would have encouraged the hawks in NATO and the Biden administration to advocate even more aggressive support for Ukraine, which could have even have culminated in direct NATO intervention.<\/p>\n

Russia\u2019s robust defence makes that seem unlikely now. The Ukrainians have taken high casualties trying to break through Russian lines but all to no avail.<\/p>\n

As Brian Berletic explains<\/a>, Ukraine\u2019s armed forces lost nearly 250 tanks, hundreds of armoured vehicles and tens of thousands of men killed and wounded in the latest round of fighting.<\/p>\n

Even with new arms and equipment from NATO countries the Ukrainian army is now a shadow of what it was. At best all it can hope for is a bloody stalemate ending in a negotiated settlement.<\/p>\n

The Russians however, may decide otherwise.<\/p>\n

President Biden\u2019s handlers\/advisors have obviously taken note of the Ukrainian army\u2019s inability to make any meaningful headway, even as the West strains to meet its demands for more arms and munitions to carry on the fight.<\/p>\n

As a result, we suspect that Biden\u2019s advisors\/handlers will be urging a less confrontational approach. The NATO\/U.S. proxy is getting badly beaten and sooner or later, and despite the best efforts of the Western MSM to disguise it, this will become more widely recognized.<\/p>\n

It has taken long enough but now even some senior U.S. military officials are admitting that the Ukrainian counteroffensive is \u201cnot meeting expectations on any front<\/a>\u201d. In other words it has turned into a debacle and it\u2019s the Ukrainian conscripts who are paying the price.<\/p>\n

Had it not been for the warmongers in the Biden administration and NATO this need never have happened. Hundreds of thousands of young Ukrainian conscripts have been needlessly killed or maimed because strategists in London and Washington thought they would use Ukraine as a proxy in an undeclared war against Russia.<\/p>\n

They were ready to fight to the last Ukrainian to bring Russia to its knees and they failed.<\/p>\n

Trouble is the real criminals in this conflict will probably never be brought to account, at least not in this world. The politicians who helped arm Ukraine and the journalists who strove to turn Western public opinion against Moscow with fake stories about alleged Russian atrocities<\/a> will be forgotten.<\/p>\n

The question is, will the Russians be quite so ready to forget, and maybe eventually forgive?<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve seen how the West was ready to wage a proxy war against them using their own Slavic brethren as cannon fodder. In response, Moscow might decide that if it wants to avoid a repeat of this they may have to deal with the source of this treachery once and for all.<\/p>\n

We will know soon enough but there is no getting round the fact that the West has made itself an enemy in Russia.<\/p>\n
