Ten days later there is no significant progress.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-270043\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Ukrainian-counteroffensive.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"380\" height=\"269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Ukrainian-counteroffensive.jpg 380w, https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Ukrainian-counteroffensive-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 380px) 100vw, 380px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.moonofalabama.org\/16i\/ukrmap20230614.jpg\">bigger<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/live\/2023\/jun\/03\/russia-ukraine-war-live-russian-army-may-struggle-in-bakhmut-compared-with-wagner-uk-mod-suggests?page=with:block-647afd7a8f08b007454b97f0\">the outcome the war propagandists expected<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">[General Petreus] spoke about the situation in Ukraine to BBC Radio 4\u2019s Today programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">On the counteroffensive, he said:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>I think that this counteroffensive is going to be very impressive.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>My sense is that they will achieve combined arms effects in other words, they will successfully carry out combined arms operations where you have engineers that are breaching the obstacles and diffusing the minefields and so forth; armour following right on through protected by infantry against anti-tank missiles; air defence keeping the Russians aircraft off them; electronic warfare jamming their radio networks; logistics right up behind them; artillery and mortars right out in front of them.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>And most important of all \u2026 is that as the lead elements inevitably culminate after 72-96 hours, physically that\u2019s about as far as you can go, and they\u2019ll have taken losses \u2026 you have follow-on units that will push right on through and capitalise on the progress and maintain the momentum and I think that can get the entire Russian defence in that area moving, then I think you have other opportunities that will open up on the flanks as well.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Back in reality the lead elements of the Ukrainian attack <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moonofalabama.org\/2023\/06\/lets-try-this-again.html\">got slaughtered<\/a>.
