This seems to be the first year the publicly \u2018pro-LGBTQ+\u2019 company has taken this kind of stance,\u201d the union wrote.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Taking a cue from Target, who bowed to anti-LGBTQ+ pressure and removed pride merchandise, corporate and district management are taking down the pride decorations that have become an annual tradition in stores.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Starbucks Workers United (@SBWorkersUnited) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SBWorkersUnited\/status\/1668619102490091521?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 13, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTaking a cue from Target, who bowed to anti-LGBTQ+ pressure and removed pride merchandise, corporate and district management are taking down the pride decorations that have become an annual tradition in stores,\u201d the union added.<\/p>\n<p>Leftist publication <em>New Republic<\/em> suggested Starbucks\u2019 move was prompted by bomb threats brought about by \u201cright-wing rage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What this publication \u2013 and other mainstream media outlets \u2013 are omitting was these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infowars.com\/posts\/utah-target-evacuated-after-trans-extremists-threaten-to-bomb-multiple-store-locations-for-removing-lgbt-merch\/\">bomb threats were <em><strong>made by far-left \u201ctrans\u201d advocates<\/strong><\/em><\/a> who were angry Target began removing its \u201ctrans clothing\u201d marketed for children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would be understandable for Starbucks to suddenly grow wary of overt Pride displays, considering how bad the\u00a0right-wing rage\u00a0has become. Target stores in five different states received\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/2023\/06\/12\/target-bomb-threat-pride\/\">bomb threats<\/a>\u00a0over the weekend and had to be evacuated,\u201d New Republic claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut there had been no such fury directed at Starbucks. So instead, the company has prematurely caved to anticipated anger.
