Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi says the country has boosted its deterrence power that now contributes to the security and sustainable peace in the\u00a0region.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cSome may ask \u2018what is the purpose of manufacturing missiles?\u2019 They are for deterrence, for defense,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n \u201cWe build missiles so that we do not suffer from aggression by the enemies and so that we have the power that the enemies would not even think of an act of aggression against the Islamic Republic.\u201d<\/p>\n Raeisi added that, “Defense and missile industries have become indigenous in Iran. As Iran does not import its defense weapons, therefore nothing can\u00a0threaten to marginalize this advanced industry.\u201d<\/p>\n The Iranian president was addressing the unveiling ceremony of an Iranian homegrown hypersonic missile\u00a0on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n Raeisi further said the Islamic Republic started attempts to become independent in the defense sector during the 1980s Iraqi imposed war that saw the bombardment of many Iranian cities.<\/p>\n Highlighting the peaceful nature of Iran\u2019s defense power, he said some officials from regional states said, \u201cIran is a friend of difficult times and that there was nothing left of their country if it was not for the efforts of anti-terror General Qassem Soleimani and the IRGC\u2019s Quds Force as well as Iran\u2019s support for them against an invasion by Takfiris and Daesh terrorists.\u201d<\/p>\n The Iranian chief executive stressed that the country\u2019s missile power means that the region will be safe from villains and foreign aggressions.<\/p>\n Therefore, he added, Iran\u2019s missile power conveys \u201ca message of security to the people of the region. Its message to those who are thinking about attacking Iran is that the Islamic Republic is a powerful country and that its might is to support the Iranian nation and the world\u2019s oppressed.\u201d<\/p>\n The\u00a0Aerospace\u00a0Force of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) unveiled the\u00a0hypersonic missile named Fattah.<\/p>\n The hypersonic missile has a range of 1,400 kilometers, hits speeds of Mach 13-15 and\u00a0can breach and destroy all anti-missile shields.<\/p>\n Chief Commander of the IRGC Major General Hossein Salami, and the Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh were also at the\u00a0ceremony<\/p>\n The precision-guided\u00a0missile also features excellent maneuverability and stealth ability to pass through radar systems.<\/p>\n With a solid fuel propulsion system and a second-stage mobile nozzle, the missile has the ability to reach very high speeds and perform various maneuvers in and out of the Earth\u2019s atmosphere in order to overcome all types of air defense systems.<\/p>\n Addressing the unveiling ceremony, Hajizadeh said Iran is now among only four countries that have the technology to manufacture hypersonic missiles.<\/p>\n Unlike other types of missiles, Fattah cannot be countered by any defense system, he said, adding that the hypersonic missile cannot be destroyed by any missile due to its movement in various directions and heights.<\/p>\n \u201cOur activities in this field do not end with the manufacturing of this missile. We will continue this path so that no enemy even imagines attacking Iran,\u201d the IRGC commander asserted.<\/p>\n Hajizadeh further said that Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has supported and approved the missile activities, noting that Ayatollah Khamenei has chosen the name “Fattah”,\u00a0which\u00a0translates to \u201cthe opener\u201d.<\/p>\n
