The possible transfer of nuclear weapons to Ukraine from the West will cause a preemptive<\/strong> strike by Russia, said Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council.<\/p>\n

The statement was made during his visit to Vietnam.<\/p>\n

Medvedev explained that the allies of Ukraine can put into service not only F-16 fighters, which is no longer excluded, but also nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n

This has caused a gigantic rift within NATO.\u00a0The United States, Great Britain, Poland, and Germany are in favor of this idea, while Turkey, Greece, and Hungary are against it.<\/p>\n

“If this happens, they must be prepared for a retaliatory strike with a nuclear charge”\u00a0<\/strong> said Medvedev.<\/p>\n

Medvedev emphasized that if the situation comes to the point that nuclear weapons are being transferred to Ukraine, a preventive<\/u> strike from Russia becomes inevitable<\/u>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He expressed confidence that many in the Western world are not fully aware of the seriousness of this issue, believing that the situation will not reach such a critical level. However, according to Medvedev, under certain circumstances, the situation may come to this.<\/p>\n

A similar statement was made in the context of Medvedev\u2019s harsh response to the call of G7 countries for the inadmissibility of nuclear war.<\/p>\n

“They demand some guarantees from Russia on nuclear weapons, but, in fact, imply the possibility of a future nuclear conflict between our country and NATO”,\u00a0– noted Medvedev.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The West is seriously underestimating the risk of nuclear war, a top Vladimir Putin<\/a> aide has warned.<\/p>\n

Dmitry Medvedev<\/a>, who is Russia<\/a>\u2019s security council deputy chairman, alleged the West was \u201cnot fully realising\u201d the threat of nuclear war. Russia has repeatedly accused the West of waging a proxy war with it over Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are irreversible laws of war. If it comes to nuclear weapons, there will have to be a pre-emptive strike,\u201d said Mr Medvedev.<\/p>\n

Allowing Ukraine nuclear weapons \u2013 a step no Western country has publicly proposed \u2013 would mean \u201ca missile with a nuclear charge coming to them\u201d, he was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Anglo-Saxons do not fully realise this and believe that it will not come to this. It will under certain conditions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also said the Ukraine invasion could go on for decades and accused Volodymyr Zelensky<\/a> of being impossible to negotiate with and called him a \u201cclown\u201d.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian president said at least one person was killed and 15 were injured in a Russian missile strike on a clinic in Dnipro on Friday.<\/p>\n
