{"id":268540,"date":"2023-05-07T07:13:58","date_gmt":"2023-05-07T07:13:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=268540"},"modified":"2023-05-09T07:15:44","modified_gmt":"2023-05-09T07:15:44","slug":"iranian-navy-destroyers-furnished-with-homegrown-abu-mahdi-cruise-missiles-cmdr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=268540","title":{"rendered":"Iranian Navy destroyers furnished with homegrown &#8216;Abu Mahdi&#8217; cruise missiles: Cmdr."},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Press TV \u2013 May 6, 2023<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Commander of the Islamic Republic of\u00a0Iran Navy\u00a0Rear Admiral\u00a0Shahram Irani\u00a0says the force has furnished its destroyers with domestically designed and manufactured &#8216;Abu Mahdi&#8217; cruise missiles, which feature\u00a0state-of-the-art technologies suitable for electronic warfare.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The missile has been named after the former deputy head of Iraq\u2019s Popular Mobilization Units\u00a0who was assassinated along with top Iranian anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in a US drone strike ordered by former President Donald Trump near the Baghdad International Airport in early January 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Abu Mahdi naval cruise missile has reportedly been developed by military experts at Aerospace Industries Organization\u00a0(AIO), a subordinate of the\u00a0Iranian Defense Ministry and a leading high-tech complex headquartered in\u00a0Tehran. It is said to have a range of over one thousand kilometers, and can destroy any designated target.
