Take it from me: I spent 28 years in the mainstream newspaper industry and the Poynter Institute was considered the Holy Grail of journalistic training. I can tell you from experience that at least 99 percent of working professional journalists live in a delusionary environment of their own making that clouds their thinking on almost every issue out there.<\/p>\n

The excellent article by Chris Wright below is just one example of how journalists get brainwashed (in this case by the Poynter Institute) and don\u2019t even know it, then spread their poisonous indoctrination on to their readers and viewers. And one of the most common ways in which they show their bias is through errors of omission \u2014 they ignore or downplay the most truthful, relevant news while playing up and sensationalizing the stories that fit their narrative or are simply sensational enough to distract their audience away from the really important news.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t believe everything you read.\u00a0 Major media outlets have been caught over the years taking money to print propaganda and slant stories a certain way.\u00a0 Among the\u00a0paymasters<\/a>\u00a0are the\u00a0Chinese Communist Party<\/a>, left-wing foundations, super-rich Leftist George Soros, and the U.S. government.<\/p>\n

The U.S. government has\u00a0paid<\/a>\u00a0journalists to shill for Obamacare, green jobs, and, most recently,\u00a0COVID vaccines<\/a>.\u00a0 Now comes news the Biden administration\u00a0paid<\/a>\u00a0the left-wing Poynter Institute another $23,500 to train journalists how to create supposedly \u201cbalanced and bias-free\u201d journalism.\u00a0 Or at least that\u2019s the cover story.\u00a0 The U.S. Agency for Global Media has previously paid Poynter for such training in the past.\u00a0 In addition, the State Department has paid Poynter $360,000 over the years for this training.<\/p>\n

Poynter is funded by big Democrat donors like George Soros and Bill Gates.\u00a0 They get their money\u2019s worth.\u00a0 Poynter started a \u201cblacklist\u201d of conservative news outlets it deemed \u201cunreliable\u201d.\u00a0 Poynter was forced to retract the list after fierce criticism.\u00a0 Poynter runs PolitiFact, the supposed fact-checking site that routinely attacks Republicans and conservatives.\u00a0 It has had to retract numerous fact-checks, including one that called the now widely accepted lab leak coronavirus origin theory \u201cridiculous\u201d.\u00a0 So don\u2019t believe everything you read in PolitiFact, either.<\/p>\n

Poynter has urged social media platforms to censor what it deems to be \u2018misinformation\u2019.\u00a0 It parlayed that campaign into a $13.2 million grant from Google to Poynter\u2019s International Fact-Checking Network to help fight so-called \u201cmisinformation\u201d.\u00a0 There\u2019s also PolitiFact\u2019s arrangement to censor information on Facebook.<\/p>\n

All of this is uncomfortably close to the wide-ranging government censorship exercise \u2013 carried on with social media and left-wing advocacy group partners \u2013 now documented in multiple releases of the Twitter files and in the ongoing case Missouri and Louisiana brought against the Biden administration for censorship.\u00a0 You can be assured whenever any of these people talk about \u2018misinformation\u2019, what they\u2019re really talking about is their desire to censor all views they don\u2019t like and to vanquish their political enemies.<\/p>\n

The Poynter Institute is not the only journalistic enterprise shown in recent days to be pushing its political views.\u00a0 \u00a0To push the transgender narrative, NPR ridiculously\u00a0claimed<\/a>\u00a0there is \u201climited scientific evidence\u201d that men have a \u201cphysical advantage\u201d over women in sports.\u00a0 But biological transgender males have been\u00a0trouncing<\/a>\u00a0real women in swimming, cycling, weight lifting, and track & field, and everybody knows it.\u00a0 Moreover, females are getting\u00a0hurt<\/a>\u00a0going up against males.\u00a0 This injustice will not stand forever, NPR\u2019s political views notwithstanding.<\/p>\n

Untrustworthy mainstream media outlets have been so bad on other stories recently, they have been forced to issue\u00a0retractions<\/a>.\u00a0 NPR wrongly reported Joe Biden\u2019s son Beau died from injuries received in the military.\u00a0 The New York Times and Rolling Stone \u2013 also left-wing outlets like NPR \u2013 issued corrections to stories they ran about FBI whistleblowers.\u00a0 \u00a0The Washington Post has issued a number of retractions recently, including the use of the terms \u2018debunk\u2019 and \u2018conspiracy theory\u2019 in a story criticizing Senator Tom Cotton for repeating the COVID lab leak theory, a theory now found credible by the Energy Department and the FBI.\u00a0 MSNBC\u2019s Andrea Mitchell had to\u00a0admit<\/a>\u00a0she was less than precise when she claimed Ron DeSantis didn\u2019t want slavery taught in schools.<\/p>\n

These people are so invested in getting their political enemies, they cut corners and misrepresent the facts.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the media has been trending this way for years.\u00a0 CNN kept running stories for two and a half years about the Trump\/Russia collusion hoax when it knew there was nothing there.\u00a0 And don\u2019t forget Dan Rather, the CBS news anchor who was\u00a0forced to resign<\/a>\u00a0in disgrace after running fake news about George W. Bush\u2019s Air National Guard service.\u00a0 Left-wing partisan hacks, all.\u00a0 \u00a0Just like Google News which\u00a0skews<\/a>\u00a0its news curation to favor left-wing outlets, a recent study showed.<\/p>\n

American journalism has gone from claiming it is objective, to\u00a0admitting<\/a>\u00a0its liberal bias, to conspiring with leftist-controlled government agencies and left-wing billionaires to weaponize its coverage and wage jihad against its political enemies.\u00a0 Welcome to fascism, the combination of Big Government and Big Business.\u00a0 If you still believe anything they write, all I can say is, \u2018there\u2019s a sucker born every minute.\u2019<\/p>\n
