We all know the killer wrote a manifesto.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s categorically laughable to suggest officials aren\u2019t fully aware of the motive of the shooter.<\/p>\n<p>However, the public may never know what really happened\u2026 LGBTQ activists are fighting tooth and nail to keep the manifesto buried and as of now, the Nashville police are refusing to release it.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Totally unacceptable. There is no reason why releasing the manifesto would interfere with their investigation into a dead assailant. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dAQXUmnyKp\">https:\/\/t.co\/dAQXUmnyKp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattWalshBlog\/status\/1640811810650575008?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 28, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re hearing LGBTQ activists are fighting to keep the manifesto buried because they believe if it\u2019s made public, it will place their movement in jeopardy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/audrey-hale-manifesto-release-raises-major-concerns-among-lgbtq-groups-1790938?utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1680027396\">Newsweek:<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cIt should not be published,\u201d Jordan Budd, the executive director of Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere (COLAGE), told\u00a0Newsweek. \u201cThe focus should be on how this was able to happen in the first place. There should not be such easy access to deadly weaponry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cCharles Moran, the national president of Log Cabin\u00a0Republicans, a GOP organization that advocates for equal rights for LGBTQ+ Americans, also told\u00a0Newsweek\u00a0that there are \u201cserious consequences\u201d for the public release of the manifesto.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cWhile it would certainly give insight into the motivations of this deeply troubled individual that could help shed light into root causes, we know from tragedies like this that additional glorification of the shooter could inspire others to take similar violent acts for attention,\u201d Moran said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Laura McGinnis, a spokesperson for PFLAG, agreed, telling\u00a0Newsweek\u00a0that publication of these documents could increase the risk of contagion. She said that while the manifesto could help law enforcement and policymakers identify potential warning signs to prevent future tragedies, ultimately, \u201cthe contents don\u2019t change the outcome of the tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cRegardless of the shooter\u2019s intentions, the real issue here is the ease of access to deadly weapons in Tennessee and elsewhere,\u201d Budd said, adding, \u201cAll children, no matter who their parents are or how they identify, should feel safe and supported at school.
