Exercise increased caution due to the risk of wrongful detentions,\u201d reads the <a href=\"https:\/\/ru.usembassy.gov\/travel-advisory-russia-do-not-travel-february-12-2023\/\">latest advisory<\/a> from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, which is overseen by the State Department.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/State-Dept-Do-Not-travel-To-Russia.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-265053\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/State-Dept-Do-Not-travel-To-Russia.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"410\" \/><\/a>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-travel-2\">travel<\/a> advisory, issued on Feb. 12, noted a series of security risks facing U.S. citizens in Russia, including arbitrary enforcement of local law and the possibility that they\u00a0could be forced to fight in the war.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia may refuse to acknowledge dual nationals\u2019 U.S. citizenship, deny their access to U.S. consular assistance, subject them to mobilization, prevent their departure from Russia, and\/or conscript them,\u201d the warning states.<\/p>\n<p>Americans in Russia face \u201cthe potential for harassment\u201d as well as the threat of being singled out for arrest, the embassy warned.<\/p>\n<p>The State Department said that recent legislation has expanded the ability of Russian authorities to detain and question people suspected of acting against Moscow\u2019s interest, noting that U.S. citizens in Russia \u201chave been interrogated without cause and threatened by Russian officials, and may become victims of harassment, mistreatment, and extortion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Compounding the security risk to American citizens in Russia is the fact that the U.S. Embassy\u2019s ability to provide emergency services in the country has been \u201cseverely limited\u201d due to restrictions on travel for embassy staff and the suspension of services at U.S. consulates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not travel to Russia,\u201d the State Department cautioned.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2018Terrorists May Attack\u2019<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/americans-in-russia-advised-to-depart-immediately-due-to-risk-of-arrest-terror-threat_5053372.html\">Continues \u2026<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. State Department has warned U.S. citizens to leave Russia \u201cimmediately\u201d.
