{"id":265000,"date":"2023-02-13T08:30:36","date_gmt":"2023-02-13T08:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=265000"},"modified":"2023-02-14T07:02:57","modified_gmt":"2023-02-14T07:02:57","slug":"fbi-whistleblower-memo-on-latin-mass-catholics-is-open-door-to-declare-all-christians-criminals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=265000","title":{"rendered":"FBI whistleblower: Memo on Latin Mass Catholics is \u2018open door\u2019 to declare all Christians \u2018criminals\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Emily Mangiaracina \u2013 LifeSite News Feb 10, 2023<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>FBI whistleblower Kyle Seraphin has warned that the recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/fbi-doc-suggests-agency-is-surveilling-radical-traditional-catholics-in-virginia\/?utm_source=featured-news&amp;utm_campaign=usa\">leaked<\/a> bombshell FBI memo identifying \u201cRadical Traditionalist Catholic Ideology\u201d as a magnet for \u201cviolent extremists\u201d is an \u201copen door\u201d to target all Christians in the U.S. as criminals.<\/p>\n<p>The eight-page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncoverdc.com\/2023\/02\/08\/the-fbi-doubles-down-on-christians-and-white-supremacy-in-2023\/\">memo<\/a>, written by an FBI analyst in Richmond, Virginia, asserts that \u201cincreasingly observed interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists (RMVE) in Radical Traditionalist Catholic (RTC) Ideology almost certainly presents new opportunities for threat mitigation\u201d via \u201ctripwire and source development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The document identifies \u201cRadical Traditional Catholics\u201d as typically rejecting Vatican II as a \u201cvalid council,\u201d and often holding \u201canti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ, and white supremacist ideology.\u201d It further claims that RMVEs have \u201csought out\u201d traditional Catholic worship and use RTC ideology language on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Seraphin weighed in on the disturbing implications of the memo, which he published on Wednesday, on <em>Tucker Carlson Tonight<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8Check out my appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight\ud83d\udc47 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6RU8yId0KD\">pic.twitter.com\/6RU8yId0KD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Kyle Seraphin (@KyleSeraphin) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KyleSeraphin\/status\/1623861276395929601?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 10, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s appalling,\u201d said Seraphin. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t seem reasonable, but it is the state of the FBI at this point that they are so desperate to find white supremacists that they\u2019re going to look at the Catholic Church.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seraphin and Carlson agreed that, in maligning a particular set of religious beliefs, the memo was at odds with the Constitution. \u201cThe Bill of Rights prohibits the government from weighing in on sectarian or religious questions. They don\u2019t get to decide whether your religion is good or bad. They have to be agnostic on it,\u201d Carlson pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>Seraphin said he believes the document and ideas behind it ultimately pose a threat not only to traditional Catholics, but to all Christians in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think if we\u2019re realistic about it, they have found a gateway in what they think is fringe Catholicism in order to move into Christians in general and declare them to be the actual criminals in this country, or potential terrorists,\u201d he told Carlson.<\/p>\n<p>The whistleblower observed that the document was written by someone with views \u201cantithetical to Catholicism,\u201d including a belief in abortion \u201crights\u201d and in \u201can LGBTQ agenda that needs to be pushed down the American people\u2019s throats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the document, an alleged \u201cincrease in hostility\u201d toward pro-abortion people online showed a \u201cconvergence\u201d between RMVEs and RTCs, and its mention of \u201canti-LGBTQ\u201d RTC beliefs appears to vilify the vast majority of traditional Catholics as well as the majority of conservative Christians, since the biblical belief that marriage only exists between a man and a woman is interpreted by \u201cLGBTQ\u201d advocates to be \u201canti-LGBTQ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), cited by the memo in question, even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.splcenter.org\/fighting-hate\/extremist-files\/ideology\/anti-lgbtq\">identifies<\/a> legislation that prevents males from participating in women\u2019s sports as \u201canti-LGBTQ.\u201d On its website, the SPLC rejects \u201creligious liberty\u201d as a \u201cguise\u201d for what it claims are anti-LGBTQ beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an open door to all the Christians in this country, which is pretty much all of the country,\u201d Seraphin concluded.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that the anonymous FBI whistleblower who shared the memo with him is not Catholic, but believes that \u201cif they\u2019re going to go after \u2018radical\u2019 traditional Catholics, then \u2018radical\u2019 traditional Baptists are next, and radical traditional evangelicals, and anybody that espouses what is \u2018radical,\u2019 which is just a Christian faith.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following intense backlash, the FBI has now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/breaking-fbi-retracts-memo-on-radical-latin-mass-catholics-that-cited-left-wing-splc-report\/?utm_source=featured-news&amp;utm_campaign=usa\">released<\/a> a statement saying it is not only retracting, but also investigating why the anti-Catholic memo was issued by its Richmond, Virginia, office last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile our standard practice is not to comment on specific intelligence products, this particular field office product \u2014 disseminated only within the FBI \u2014 regarding racially or ethnically motivated violent extremism does not meet the exacting standards of the FBI,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n<p>In its statement, the FBI claims that \u201cupon learning of the document, FBI Headquarters quickly began taking action to remove the document from FBI systems and conduct a review of the basis for the document.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement continues: \u201cThe FBI is committed to sound analytic tradecraft and to investigate and prevent acts of violence and other crimes while upholding the constitutional rights of all Americans and will never conduct investigative activities or open an investigation based solely on First Amendment protected activity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A years-old \u201cstudy\u201d conducted by the SPLC on the purported dangers of \u201cRadical Traditional Catholicism\u201d was included in the FBI memo as a primary resource in order to justify the agency\u2019s monitoring of certain traditional Catholic groups.<\/p>\n<p>The memo refers to nine traditional Catholic organizations as \u201cRTC hate groups,\u201d as identified and defined by the SPLC: Catholic Family News, <em>The Remnant<\/em>, The Fatima Center, Tradition in Action, Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Culture Wars, In the Spirit of Chartres, Christ or Chaos, and Catholic Apologetics International. These groups were all listed in the SPLC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.splcenter.org\/fighting-hate\/extremist-files\/ideology\/radical-traditional-catholicism\">report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Seraphin responded on Twitter to news about the FBI\u2019s about-face, suggesting the agency only backed off because it had been held to account. \u201cThe FBI doesn\u2019t confirm information, but they confirmed this,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KyleSeraphin\/status\/1623770001223348224?s=20&amp;t=2FpTa0T6lNIjsXnDu3yf1w\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cBecause they were called out. Not because they would NEVER approve it. They approved it, and are embarrassed. This is the only way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Catholic Family News editor-in-chief Brian McCall remarked to LifeSiteNews that the memo\u2019s release \u201cconfirms the dystopian state of the country in which we sadly live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCall continued, \u201cThe FBI is spying on and infiltrating traditional Roman Catholic groups and even parishes for simply exercising their First Amendment Rights. The absurdity of the outrageous allegations of the FBI memo are blatant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Although the author acknowledges that white supremacists are and have always been violently anti-Catholic (the KKK burn crosses specifically to show their hostility to Catholics), the author believes these white supremacist groups are now deeply attracted to strongly Catholic parishes and groups that they despise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Traditional Catholicism has never had anything to do with racial bigotry or hatred. In fact the white supremacist groups that have been active throughout US history (such as the Know Nothing Party) have targeted Catholics because Catholics have always sought the salvation and improvement in this world of the lot of those races and ethnicities despised by the White Protestant elitists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Ironically every traditional Latin Mass parish I have ever attended is more ethnically diverse than liberal Catholic parishes that segregate attendees by linguistic, and hence ethnic, lines (i.e., Spanish Masses, Vietnamese Masses, etc.).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Traditional Catholics seek the conversion of everyone regardless of race, color, ethnicity, or any other attribute, to the Kingship of Christ.
