This is the first time that China has recorded &#8211; 50C since February 15, 1969.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Jim yang (@yangyubin1998) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/yangyubin1998\/status\/1616241431995363328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 20, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For reference, China\u2019s lowest-ever January temperature remains the \u2013 51.5C set in Fuyun, Xinjiang; however, this record is under threat, as a further intensification of the cold is expected into the weekend.<\/p>\n<p><em>Stay tuned for updates.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Russian Towns And Cities Enduring All-Time Record Cold<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The majority of Asia has been holding exceptionally-cold in recent weeks and months \u2014 the depth freeze cannot be overstated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The slew of MSM articles <em>promoting <\/em>Central Europe\u2019s winter warmth are nothing but cheap, cherry-picking obfuscations. To the east, the region of Asia enduring persistent and historic cold is some <em>20x<\/em> the size of Central Europe. Kazakhstan alone is comparable in size, with this <em>1,000,000+ km2<\/em> nation shivering through one of its coldest winters on record.<\/p>\n<p>Compounding the misery, Western Asia \u2013in particular\u2013 is suffering a deadly energy shortage with residents across the likes of Iran, Iraq and Turkmenistan (most of the \u2018stans, in fact) suffering rolling blackouts as temperatures plunge below -30C (-22F).<\/p>\n<p>In Afghanistan, hundreds of people are reported to have frozen to death in temperatures not seen for half a century.<\/p>\n<p>While Uzbekistan\u2019s president has said he is \u201ctormented\u201d by his nation\u2019s failed ability to cope with the energy demand, exclaiming, \u201cWhy is this happening in the capital? Why didn\u2019t we prepare in advance?\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Desperate Uzbeks are turning to stealing gas, and are being shot as a result. Gas boilers are also exploding due to frozen pipes, killing people. This is not considered newsworthy in the west, for it would no doubt harm \u2018The Narrative\u2019 \u2014 facts often do.<\/p>\n<p>Though desperate, Uzbek officials had turned down\u00a0an offer\u00a0from Russia to reverse-flow extra gas supplies to Uzbekistan in return for the handover of assets including the country\u2019s gas transmission system. However, given the worsening crisis that deal may be back on the table (a scenario I\u2019m sure Putin hoped would play out in Europe this winter; however, and as global energy CEOs recently forewarned, Europe\u2019s real energy woes are due to hit <em>next year<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The] energy crisis in Central Asia is so bad that families with children are forced to sleep in the cars because the latter are warmer than the houses,\u201d writes Bishkek-based ethnographer Asel Doolotkeldieva.<\/p>\n<p>While shifting north, into Russia, the Siberian village of Tongulah\u00a0broke its <em>all-time <\/em>record low temperature on three occasions this week, bottoming out at -62.7C (-80.9F) on Weds, Jan 18 (Russia\u2019s lowest January temperature since 1982).<\/p>\n<p>Also worth noting, residents of the eastern Siberian village of <em>Essey <\/em>are adamant that their thermometers plunged to <a href=\"https:\/\/electroverse.co\/snow-south-korea-russia-coldest-jan-temp-arctic-air-hits-europe-cooling-australia\/\">-75C (-103F)<\/a>. This\u00a0<em>would\u00a0<\/em>have been a new worldwide low for a location outside of Antarctica, Essey lacks an <em>official <\/em>UGMS station, meaning the reading could not be verified.<\/p>\n<p>This part of the world \u2013that is to say <em>the majority of Asia<\/em>\u2014 suffers from poor weather station coverage\u2013which is just as well for the <em>warmists<\/em> as the busted records would list in the thousands if thermometer coverage was on par with, say, Central Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Average-wise, Russian towns and cities, such as <em>Norilsk<\/em>, the world\u2019s northernmost city, are suffering anomalies of more than -14C below the January norm, which in the case of Norlisk is also 2C below its coldest January average on record \u2014 as recently tweeted by Zdenek Nejedly:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThere\u2019s no snow this season in the alps\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Oj85qyNTiy\">pic.twitter.com\/Oj85qyNTiy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash;
