The aircraft are scheduled to arrive on January 17, 2023 and are going to support the Alliance\u2019s reinforced presence in the region and monitor Russian military activity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026there must be no doubt about NATO\u2019s resolve to protect and defend every inch of Allied territory,\u201d said NATO spokesperson Oana Lungescu. \u201cOur AWACS can detect aircraft hundreds of kilometres away, making them a key capability\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2026.NATO has increased its air presence in eastern Europe with additional fighters, surveillance aircraft, and tankers.
