The book quickly and efficiently communicates some simple undeniable truths:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2021, the CEO of OneAmerica was the first of several insurance companies to publicly disclose that during the third and fourth quarters of 2021, deaths in people of working age (18-64) were 40% higher than before the pandemic. And the majority of the deaths were not attributed to <a href=\"https:\/\/childrenshealthdefense.org\/defender_category\/covid\/\">COVID-19<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/childrenshealthdefense.org\/defender\/edward-dowd-cause-unknown-book-deaths-healthy-young-people\/\">40% increase in deaths<\/a> is literally earthshaking, and not only for the devastated families and communities that directly experience the deaths. Even a 10% increase in excess deaths would have been a 1-in-200-year event. But this was 40%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And therein lies a story \u2014 a story that starts with obvious questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What caused this historic spike in deaths among younger people?<\/li>\n<li>What caused the shift from old people, who are expected to die, to younger people, who are expected to keep living?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Young people are dying suddenly and unexpectedly at a rate we\u2019ve never experienced \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/childrenshealthdefense.org\/defender\/surge-sudden-deaths-athletes\/\">dying while playing sports<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/13-year-old-dies-sleep-after-receiving-pfizer-covid-vaccine-cdc-investigating-1606529\">dying in their sleep<\/a>.
