They are currently on a leave of absence from their DOE job.<\/p>\n<p>If found guilty they could now face five years in jail, a $10,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n<p>Brinton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10564975\/Sam-Brinton-embraces-nerdy-graphic-tee-running-errands-neighborhood.html\"><strong>made headlines earlier this year<\/strong><\/a> after proudly announcing on LinkedIn that they had become Deputy Assistant Secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Department of Energy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-261808\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Brinton-arrest-docs.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"634\" height=\"832\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Brinton-arrest-docs.jpg 634w, https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Brinton-arrest-docs-480x630.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 634px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 34-year-old scientist, who was the first non-binary person to accept a position in federal government leadership, has not been at work for at least a month with Kim Petry, the acting deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel, standing in.<\/p>\n<p>Petry told coworkers she had been asked to stay on as head of the spent fuel office &#8216;for the foreseeable future&#8217; by Kathryn Huff, assistant secretary for nuclear energy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I should have another update for all of you in a month or so,&#8217; Petry wrote in the email as seen by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exchangemonitor.com\/doe-spent-fuel-chief-brinton-charged-with-felony-theft\/?fbclid=IwAR3A9iVaDFRDSjTOhmepjP2c-CdIzQpEVfLVpF65dEHl8NL4dlNTsDG8oRI\"><strong>Exchange Monitor<\/strong><\/a>. It will no doubt depend on what occurs at Brinton&#8217;s next court hearing on December 19.<\/p>\n<p>In a complaint from October 27, it is alleged Brinton was seen caught on airport surveillance cameras removing &#8216;a navy blue hard-sided roller bag&#8217; from a baggage claim carousel.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, the bag was reported missing by a\u00a0woman earlier in the day.<\/p>\n<p>After reviewing several\u00a0surveillance videos she identified the bag as hers adding that the\u00a0total value of items in the allegedly stolen bag was roughly $2,325.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11479159\/DOE-spent-fuel-chief-Sam-Brinton-charged-felony-theft-Minnesota.html\">Continues \u2026<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It appears that the senior official appointed by Biden to the Dept. of Energy is not only gender fluid but may also be a petty criminal too.
