The Washington Post advised Americans Sunday that instead of a traditional season dinner, which now is unaffordable<\/a> for a quarter of families<\/a>, they should instead look to eating bugs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes really.<\/p>\n

In an article headlined Salted ants. Ground crickets. Why you should try edible insects<\/a><\/em>, the Post stated \u201cConsumers can already find foods like salted ants on Amazon and cricket powder protein bars in Swiss grocery stores.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yummmmm, ants.<\/p>\n

The piece quoted a six year old girl in Pennsylvania who was supposedly given a rousing ovation by onlookers for eating fried worms.<\/p>\n

The piece states \u201cIt\u2019s not that bad!\u201d she exclaimed. \u201cIt kind of tastes like kettle corn!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

There\u2019s the usual crap about crickets having more protein than beef and everyone in third world countries already eating them, so why are you any better\u2026 etc<\/p>\n

\u201cWatching others enjoy insects may also help break down barriers,\u201d the piece states under a sub headline \u201cCreating a new norm.\u201d<\/p>\n

It further states \u201cbefore insects can become common fare, more diners must be convinced that six-legged critters are, in fact, food. Through tasting experiments, surveys and educational demos, researchers, entrepreneurs and educators are delving into consumers\u2019 psychology and finding that resistance to insect-eating can be strong.\u201d<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t say.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re not eating fucking bugs.<\/p>\n

This is the latest in a growing trend of pushing bug eating<\/a> on the masses as a way of \u2018saving the planet\u2019.<\/p>\n
