Conservative pundit\u00a0Candace Owens<\/a>\u00a0has denounced Ukrainian President\u00a0Volodymyr Zelensky<\/a>\u00a0as a “fraud” following reports that a missile fired from his country killed two people in Poland.<\/p>\n

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Owens called the Ukrainian president a “dirtbag actor” and accused him of “trying to start World War 3” by attempting to pin blame for the missile strike on Russia. International concerns that the incident could force\u00a0NATO<\/a>\u00a0to intervene in the Russia-Ukraine war emerged after initial reports suggested the missile that hit the Polish village of Przewodow on Tuesday might have come from the Russian military.<\/p>\n

While the missile was identified as\u00a0Russian-made<\/a>, U.S., Polish and NATO officials have since dismissed the notion that the weapon was launched from Russia. They have instead suggested that the missile was likely fired by Ukrainian forces, albeit inadvertently. Owens claimed, without evidence, that the incident was an intentional attempt by Zelensky to launch a “false flag” attack that would force NATO into the war.<\/p>\n
