Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace, said in an email that the organization has been \u201chijacked\u201d<\/a> by the \u201cpolitical left,\u201d turning it from a science-based organization concerned about pollution and the environment into a climate alarmist group<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In an email obtained by\u00a0the\u00a0Epoch Times<\/em>, Moore claimed the political left of North America and Europe wanted to use Greenpeace when they realized there was \u201cmoney and power in the environmental movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c[Left-leaning] political activists\u00a0\u2026 changed Greenpeace from a science-based organization to a political fundraising organization,\u201d said Moore, who left Greenpeace in 1986, 15 years after he co-founded the organization. Moore added that the global \u201cenvironmental\u201d movement no longer cares about the environment because it has turned into a political movement. \u201cThey are primarily focused on creating narratives, stories that are designed to instill fear and guilt into the public so the public will send them money,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

He said so-called environmentalists mainly operate behind closed doors using front organizations like the World Economic Forum and the United Nations\u2019 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the latter of which he referred to as \u201cnot a science organization,\u201d but a political one.<\/p>\n

Moore further\u00a0said the IPCC does not rely on science but instead hires so-called scientists to provide it with fraudulent information and studies that support the cause of declaring a global climate emergency<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Environmental campaigns designed to scare humanity into accepting the crippling of civilization<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Moore warned that the campaigns of environmental groups like Greenpeace against things like fossil fuels, carbon emissions and the widespread use of plastics are misguided. Their goal is not to make the environment better, but to get people to be so afraid of the world coming to an end that they will accept whatever measure is necessary to save it. This includes \u201ccrippling our civilization and destroying our economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are now a negative influence on the future of both the environment and human civilization. Today, the left has adopted many policies that would be very destructive to civilization as they are not technically achievable,\u201d said Moore.<\/p>\n

As evidence, he pointed to the energy crisis in renewable energy-dependent Europe and how the continent\u2019s vulnerability is being exploited by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who\u00a0has no aversion to using fossil fuels like natural gas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis crisis is of their own making in refusing to develop their own natural gas resources, opposing nuclear energy and adopting an impossible position on fossil fuels in general,\u201d said Moore.<\/p>\n

Moore lamented how Greenpeace, an organization so named because it was supposed to stand for the environment and the people, has forgotten the latter and is solely focused on its green agenda.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0scoffed at the environmental activists and leaders who believe that the environment would be in a better place if fewer people were alive. \u201cBut the people who said this were not volunteering to be the first to go away,\u201d said Moore. \u201cThey behave as if they are superior to others.\u201d<\/p>\n
