They don\u2019t believe us, and it makes me wonder if this job \u2014as I\u2019m currently doing it\u2013 is effective, but if it\u2019s doing more harm than good,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Wow, finally a journalist who has accepted the horrific state of her industry.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KatyTurNBC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@KatyTurNBC<\/a>: &quot;The trust in media, in newspapers and television, is hitting an all time low. They don&#39;t believe us, and it makes me wonder if this job \u2014as I&#39;m currently doing it\u2014 is effective, but if it&#39;s doing more harm than good.&quot; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eUKLZPCUHm\">https:\/\/t.co\/eUKLZPCUHm<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PfjXakQThZ\">pic.twitter.com\/PfjXakQThZ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; The Hill (@thehill) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thehill\/status\/1548691746229460994?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 17, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tur made the comments in response to a new <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/394817\/media-confidence-ratings-record-lows.aspx\">Gallup poll<\/a> which finds that, \u201cJust 16% of U.S. adults now say they have \u2018a great deal\u2019 or \u2018quite a lot\u2019 of confidence in newspapers and 11% in television news.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHear me out for a second here \u2014 have you considered not lying?\u201d remarked Chris Menahan. That\u2019s a rhetorical question \u2014 of course the answer is no.
