Shortly after, our BBC team were assaulted causing our cameraman to lose part of his equipment. We were later spat at. One shouted: \u201cGo and be with Shireen\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dug5Eg8aRT\">https:\/\/t.co\/dug5Eg8aRT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Tom Bateman (@tombateman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tombateman\/status\/1531151318391349248?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 30, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/english.alaraby.co.uk\/analysis\/grief-and-anger-killing-shireen-abu-akleh\">Shireen Abu Akleh<\/a> was a veteran <em>Al Jazeera<\/em> reporter killed by Israeli forces when they stormed the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.<\/p>\n<p>Her death sparked global outrage over the<a href=\"https:\/\/english.alaraby.co.uk\/news\/shireen-abu-akleh-killing-may-constitute-war-crime-un\"> crisis of impunity <\/a>emboldening Israeli forces to undermine fundamental rights such as a free press.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, when thousands of Israelis surged through the streets of Jerusalem and chanted &#8220;Death to Arabs&#8221;, several other attacks on journalists were reported.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli marchers were seen assaulting a <em>France 24<\/em> reporter on camera.<\/p>\n<p>The journalist, who was standing in front of men wearing Israeli flags, was seen clutching her forehead while reporting after being hit on the head with a bottle.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The moment when Israeli settlers interrupted France 24 reporter while covering the events in Jerusalem. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XMM6LVi0K8\">pic.twitter.com\/XMM6LVi0K8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; TIMES OF GAZA (@Timesofgaza) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Timesofgaza\/status\/1531016579802189826?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 29, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Iyad Harb, the police correspondent for the <em>Kan <\/em>public broadcaster\u2019s Arabic station, was taken to hospital after he was assaulted by masked men in <a href=\"https:\/\/english.alaraby.co.uk\/news\/israeli-settlers-assault-palestinians-sheikh-jarrah\">Sheikh Jarrah<\/a>, according to the <em>Times of Israel.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Harb said the men who beat him were speaking Hebrew and police officers did not assist him despite his appeals for\u00a0help, reported the Hebrew website.<\/p>\n<p>At least 40 Palestinians were injured on Sunday by Israeli forces and settlers using rubber bullets, truncheons and pepper spray, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.<\/p>\n<p>Videos shared on social media show Israelis harassing and assaulting local Palestinians, <a href=\"https:\/\/english.alaraby.co.uk\/news\/israeli-extremists-attack-elderly-palestinian-woman\">including the elderly.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/english.alaraby.co.uk\/news\/bbc-reporters-assaulted-during-israeli-flag-march\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Talk about karma in action!!
