{"id":252961,"date":"2022-05-02T07:11:21","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T07:11:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=252961"},"modified":"2022-05-03T16:47:21","modified_gmt":"2022-05-03T16:47:21","slug":"macron-launches-digital-id-in-france-after-re-election-raises-fears-of-social-credit-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=252961","title":{"rendered":"Macron launches digital ID in France after re-election, raises fears of social credit system"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Life Site News \u2013 Apr 29, 2022<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Less than a week after French President Emmanuel Macron was\u00a0re-elected, he is already facing backlash after launching a digital ID for citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Macron signed the \u201cDigital Identity Guarantee Service\u201d (SGIN) into a decree on April 26, less than 48 hours after\u00a0his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/globalist-french-president-emmanuel-macron-wins-re-election-bid-against-nationalist-marine-le-pen\/\">victory<\/a> over\u00a0nationalist Marine Le Pen in the French presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>The SGIN is a project by the French government to create a mobile app that will allow French citizens to access their ID digitally.<\/p>\n<p>The project aims at making France \u201ccompliant\u201d with the European Union Commission\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/strategy\/priorities-2019-2024\/europe-fit-digital-age\/european-digital-identity_en\">European Digital Identity package<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Though the text of the decree specifies that the use of digital ID \u201cis completely left to the free choice of users,\u201d some politicians see it as a tool to usher in a Chinese-like social credit system in France.<\/p>\n<p>Florian Philippot, founder of French nationalist party \u201cLes Patriotes\u201d (The Patriots), took to Twitter to denounce the new legislation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImmediately after the election, the government announced the launch of a \u2018digital identification app\u2019! The goal: to introduce a Chinese-like social credit system. A society of control and surveillance,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/f_philippot\/status\/1519360132672593924\">tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s totally reject this application and fight by any means!\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"fr\" dir=\"ltr\">Juste apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9lection, le gouvernement annonce le lancement \u00ab\u00a0d\u2019une application d\u2019identit\u00e9 num\u00e9rique\u00a0\u00bb !<br \/>Le but : y mettre le cr\u00e9dit social \u00e0 la chinoise.
