The Washington Post newspaper is reporting that according to “U.S. Officials, U.S. intelligence intercepted an order given to Russian subordinates that said that they were to proceed with a full-scale attack on Ukraine.”\u00a0 I cannot confirm this intel AT ALL.<\/p>\n

According to the Washington Post newspaper:<\/p>\n

The Biden administration has been warning of imminent attacks for days. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Saturday said Russian forces \u201care now poised to strike,\u201d bolstering President Biden\u2019s warning on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had \u201cmade the decision\u201d to attack Ukraine. The White House said Biden would convene a rare Sunday meeting of the National Security Council to assess the developing situation in Ukraine.<\/em><\/p>\n

However, some high-level European officials have expressed frustration that the United States had not shared the intelligence that led it to surmise Russia\u2019s intentions with such certainty. U.S. intelligence that provided Biden with the confidence to make the assertion came from an order given to Russian subordinates to proceed with a full-scale attack, according to several people familiar with the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the matter\u2019s sensitivity. The United States obtained intelligence on the order as Russian military and security officials were taking steps to implement it, and did so very recently, the people said.<\/em><\/p>\n

I have reached out to a number of former colleagues in the Intel Community, some in a very good position to know if such Intel had been intercepted, and NOT ONE would confirm that it had, in fact, been intercepted.<\/p>\n

Biden made a claim on FRIDAY that he thought Putin has decided to attack.\u00a0 \u00a0Figuring Biden would have been given actual “attack” intel, that would mean the Intel has been around the Intelligence Community for a full 48 hours, yet none of my former colleagues can confirm any of it.<\/p>\n

They remarked that such a broad order would NEVER be given out to “subordinates” without specific times, dates, and\/or target selection packages.<\/p>\n

Such a broad order could be misinterpreted by subordinates; some might start immediately while others may not.\u00a0 Such a broad order could totally foul up everything.<\/p>\n

The only person who could\/would give such a broad order would be a President to his top General; who is certainly not a “subordinate” that US Intel could intercept communications from.\u00a0 \u00a0The top General would gather his subordinates in a room, and tell them directly; it would not go out over comms.<\/p>\n

My former colleagues told me the whole claim by the Washington Post seems more wishful thinking on someone’s part, as opposed to reality.<\/p>\n

UPDATE 11:05 PM EST —<\/strong><\/p>\n

An attempt by international mediators to convene a meeting of Ukrainian and Russian representatives on the deteriorating situation in eastern Ukraine failed Saturday after the Russian delegation did not attend.<\/p>\n
