\"\"<\/a>Happy Black History Month. Your kindergartner might be getting handed woke worksheets about \u201cdisrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure!\u201d<\/p>\n

Yes, in some classrooms, things are a bit different than the old days when we\u2019d learn about the civil rights movement, Martin Luther King Jr. or Malcolm X. Now, kids from coast to coast will be taking part in the Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action, which teaches kids from kindergarten to high school from the \u201c13 guiding principles of the BLM movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the fact the phrase \u201cBlack Lives Matter\u201d has vague connotations and general acceptance, the Black Lives Matter activist framework is a different thing entirely. (This is something we\u2019ve noted frequently here at The Western Journal \u2014 and we\u2019ll continue to bring readers the truth about the Black Lives Matter movement<\/a>. The activist framework is based around the 13 guiding principles, many of which are openly Marxist in origin. Some are just activist buzzwords: \u201cDiversity,\u201d \u201cEmpathy,\u201d \u201cGlobalism.\u201d Others are more divisive in nature: \u201cQueer Affirming,\u201d \u201cTrans Affirming,\u201d \u201cRestorative Justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s the most problematic: No. 11, \u201cBlack Villages.\u201d Sounds harmless enough until you get to the part about \u201cdisruption of the Western nuclear family dynamics and a return to the \u2018collective village\u2019 that takes care of each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Those 13 points were set to be taught to students between Jan. 31 and Feb. 4, according to a \u201cstarter kit<\/a>\u201d one can find at the Black Lives Matter at School website. (Thursday is when kids were supposed to be learning about dismantling that pesky \u201cWestern-prescribed nuclear family structure,\u201d if you were curious.)<\/p>\n

The \u201cstarter kit\u201d also noted this year\u2019s Black Lives Matter<\/a> at School program would focus on four things: ending zero-tolerance discipline, hiring more black teachers, mandating black history and ethnic studies in the curriculum for all grades and funding \u201ccounselors not cops.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s probably difficult to teach to the young\u2019uns, so Lale\u00f1a Garcia \u2014 a New York City kindergarten teacher and the author of a children\u2019s book about the 13 principles, according to National Review<\/a> \u2014 offers some \u201cage-appropriate language so that our students or children can grasp the concepts\u201d in the starter kit.<\/p>\n

On restorative justice: \u201cWe know that if you knock down someone\u2019s block building, you have to help them rebuild it, you can\u2019t just say, \u2018Sorry,\u2019 and walk away. Another way to say that is restorative justice, and it\u2019s the idea that we have to help people when something happens to them, even if it was by accident.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other words, the concepts of equity and reparations have been put into reductionist appeals to emotion so they can be pitched to your first-grader. Nice work.<\/p>\n

On transgender affirmation: \u201cEverybody has the right to choose their own gender by listening to their own heart and mind. Everyone gets to choose if they are a girl or a boy or both or neither or something else, and no one else gets to choose for them.\u201d Because kids getting this pitch are too young for biology class<\/a>, apparently.<\/p>\n

And that nettlesome \u201cblack villages\u201d point? \u201cThere are lots of different kinds of families; what makes a family is that it\u2019s people who take care of each other; those people might be related, or maybe they choose to be family together and to take care of each other. Sometimes, when it\u2019s lots of families together, it can be called a village.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, that\u2019s burying the lede. One almost wishes she would have gone Seussian<\/a>: \u201cI will disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure after school \/ I will disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure because it\u2019s cool \/ I will disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure because it\u2019s trendy \/ And then I\u2019ll go read some Ibram X. Kendi<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conservative nonprofit Parents Defending Education<\/a> reported in a Thursday news release that schools in Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin were confirmed to be participants in the program.<\/p>\n

At Scott Middle School in Hammond, Indiana, there was a BLM at School Week coloring contest, for instance:<\/p>\n
