It always smelled like a shakedown, a scandal in the making, the millions of dollars that Black Lives Matter \u2018leaders\u2019 were raking in at the height of the \u201cGeorge Floyd riots\u201d during the summer and fall of 2020, and it turns out that\u2019s precisely what was going on.<\/p>\n

After the constant BLM-staged violence and protests from the \u2018summer of unrest\u2019 died down, the leaders of the organization appear to have absconded with as much as $60 million in donations, according to the Washington Examiner<\/em><\/a>, which reported:<\/p>\n

N<\/em>o one appears to have been in charge at\u00a0Black Lives Matter\u00a0for months. The\u00a0address\u00a0it lists on\u00a0tax\u00a0forms is wrong, and the\u00a0charity\u2019s\u00a0two board members won\u2019t say who controls its $60 million bankroll, a\u00a0Washington Examiner\u00a0investigation has found.<\/em><\/p>\n

BLM\u2019s shocking lack of transparency surrounding its finances and operations raises major\u00a0legal\u00a0and\u00a0ethical\u00a0red flags, multiple charity experts told the\u00a0Washington Examiner.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cLike a giant ghost ship full of treasure drifting in the night with no captain, no discernible crew, and no clear direction,\u201d CharityWatch Executive Director Laurie Styron said of the organization in an interview with the outlet.<\/p>\n

One of the organization\u2019s co-founders, Patrisse Cullors, a self-avowed Marxist (and hypocrite), is known to have purchased millions in properties and homes<\/a>. She has also appointed a pair of activists to serve as the organization\u2019s senior directors after she left in May over allegations surrounding those purchases and other personal finances.<\/p>\n

However, both of them quietly noted in September that they never took those positions because of disagreements they had with BLM generally. They told the Washington Examiner<\/em> in an interview they have no idea who is leading the group now that it has become one of the most influential social \u2018justice\u2019 organizations in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is grossly irregular and improper for a nonprofit with $60 million in its coffers,\u201d said\u00a0Paul Kamenar, counsel for conservative watchdog group the National Legal and Policy Center, who is calling for a full investigation into BLM as well as an audit of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, the legal entity representing the national BLM movement.<\/p>\n

The organization came under intense heat from local black activists following reports\u00a0in April that Cullors, the group\u2019s executive director at the time, spent $3.2 million on real estate purchases around the country<\/a>. Those reports followed disclosures by BLM in February 2021 that it ended 2020 with $60 million in the bank.<\/p>\n

\u201cBLM\u00a0denied\u00a0allegations that Cullors spent BLM funds on her personal properties. However, BLM and other activist organizations under Cullors\u2019s control offered contracts to an art company led by the father of her only child, the\u00a0Daily Caller<\/a><\/em>\u00a0reported,\u201d according to the\u00a0Examiner.<\/em><\/p>\n

When Cullors announced her resignation in May, she said activists\u00a0Makani Themba and Monifa Bandele would become senior executives leading the organization. However, they both revealed last fall that they never really took those jobs due to disagreements with the organization\u2019s \u201cacting Leadership Council.\u201d<\/p>\n
