Last Wednesday, more than 150 outraged parents packed a Salinas, California school board meeting to voice their frustrations over teachers who were caught in November on leaked audio recordings<\/a> discussing their plans to recruit middle schoolers into a Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) club by disguising the name and hiding their actions from parents.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jessica Konen, who claims<\/a> the school staff at Buena Vista Middle School<\/a> in Salinas indoctrinated her then 12-year-old daughter by recruiting her into a deceptively-named \u201cequality club\u201d that was actually a radical LGBTQ club, was one of about 30 furious parents who spoke during an extended public comment period during the meeting.<\/p>\n

After school officials referred to the accusations as a \u201cmistake<\/em>,\u201d Konen absolutely eviscerated the school board for downplaying the seriousness of its teachers and staff coaching and manipulating her now gender dysphoric daughter and others through nefarious means and colluding to hide it from parents.<\/p>\n

\u201cI stand here today in front of all of you because <\/em>I am outraged.<\/em><\/strong> Is this<\/a> really barely coming to light? Are you guys serious?<\/em><\/p>\n

How could you even allow this?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0How could you even have this meeting to question it?\u00a0<\/em>How dare you let these teachers come in and act as if they have done nothing wrong?\u00a0A mistake? How long of a mistake?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Konen also accused the middle school\u2019s staff of burying evidence that her child was having suicidal thoughts, claiming that school officials had access to her concerning internet search history, but did not notify her \u2013 effectively taking away her \u201cability to parent\u201d her child.<\/p>\n

The \u201cpredatorial information that is being taught to young children, she says, is what has directly contributed to her daughter\u2019s confusion and troubling mental state.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/em>They [Buena Vista Middle School<\/a> officials] didn\u2019t tell me that my child was suicidal. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

You allow these teachers to open their classrooms, <\/em>teaching predatorial information to a young child<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em> a mindful child that doesn\u2019t even know how to comprehend it all.<\/em><\/strong> How do you not know what\u2019s going on your own campuses? Did you think that no parent would ever come forward? You will not quiet me today. I will stand here today and protect my child along with every other child who has not come forward yet.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Do they [school officials] have psychiatry degrees that I was unaware of? Because I didn\u2019t hire them. I did not hire them to sit there and nitpick my child\u2019s brain.<\/em> You took away my ability to parent my child.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cYou planted seeds. Your job was to educate my child in math, science, English, etc. \u2013 Do your job and let me do mine!\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The school reportedly called the parents in for a meeting where they informed them that their daughter is trans. The teacher then proceeded to call CPS on them when they didn\u2019t use the \u201ccorrect\u201d name and pronouns. <\/p>\n
