I thought of the article below about Marilyn Monroe after watching an interview in which Baarova described her relationship with Goebbels<\/a>. Despite the fact that Goebbels was in charge of the German film industry, and could have any actress he wanted, he patiently and gallantly courted Baarova for months until he overcame her resistance. <\/strong><\/p>\n

A testament to female vanity, she confessed, “I didn’t love him, but I loved being loved by such a powerful and interesting man.”\u00a0 When Hitler tried to put a stop to this affair, Goebbels seriously considered resigning to be with Baarova. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ultimately Goebbels’ first loyalty was to Hitler and he ended the affair. Bidding Baarova\u00a0 farewell, he professed his undying love. Here is an overview of her story.\u00a0 <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
