{"id":244523,"date":"2021-10-25T07:28:19","date_gmt":"2021-10-25T07:28:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=244523"},"modified":"2021-10-26T06:45:07","modified_gmt":"2021-10-26T06:45:07","slug":"austria-unvaccinated-may-face-restrictions-if-covid-cases-keep-rising","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=244523","title":{"rendered":"Austria: unvaccinated may face restrictions if Covid cases keep rising"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Associated Press \u2013 Oct 23, 2021<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Unvaccinated people in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/austria\">Austria<\/a> could face new lockdown restrictions if coronavirus case numbers continue to rise, Austria\u2019s chancellor has said.<\/p>\n<p>The news came after a Friday evening meeting between Alexander Schallenberg (right), the chancellor, and state-level leaders to discuss their response to rapidly increasing case numbers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pandemic is not yet in the rearview mirror,\u201d Schallenberg said. \u201cWe are about to stumble into a pandemic of the unvaccinated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schallenberg announced that if the number of Covid patients in intensive-care units reaches 500, or 25% of the country\u2019s total ICU capacity, entry into businesses such as restaurants and hotels will be limited to those who are vaccinated or recovered from the virus.<\/p>\n<p>If the number reaches 600, or one-third of total ICU capacity, the government plans to impose restrictions on unvaccinated people. In this case, they would only be allowed to leave their homes for specific reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the number of Covid patients in ICUs stands at 220.<\/p>\n<p>In the past week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/austria\">Austria<\/a> has reported 20,408 new cases of the virus, according to health authorities, bringing the 7-day average to 228.5 per 100,000 people .
