He spent a grand total of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/10\/07\/suspected-texas-high-school-shooter-released-from-jail\/\">one day in jail<\/a> before he was released on a $75,000 bond Thursday. Media outlets are sympathetically portraying him as a victim of bullying and amplifying his family\u2019s defense. This may shock some readers. Who could be worse than a school shooter? Aren\u2019t we supposed to keep these young monsters locked up so they don\u2019t hurt any more kids?<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s something different about this school shooter from the ones you usually hear about on the news. Timothy Simpkins, the 18-year-old shooter is black. In the Globalist American Empire, that awards him privilege. No white school shooter could\u2019ve expected such a generous treatment.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Can\u2019t remember a time where a school shooting suspect is released the next day. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OnxBNS0aoz\">pic.twitter.com\/OnxBNS0aoz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Rach \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@rachisawake) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rachisawake\/status\/1446186085260791820?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 7, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Simpkins\u2019s defense claims he used a gun in self-defense. He allegedly grabbed a gun after the fight and unloaded it in the school. One of his victims is a 25-year-old white teacher who was shot in the back as he tried to break up the fight. He suffered a collapsed lung and broken ribs. Another victim is a 15-year-old male who remains in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>This sounds pretty indefensible, but Simpkins\u2019s family and lawyer make the case anyway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not trying to justify the gun that was brought, but when you\u2019re being bullied, when there\u2019s bullies, throughout this nation you hear of young people \u2026 committing suicide,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/10\/07\/suspected-texas-school-shooter-timothy-george-simpkins-was-bullied-family\/\">said family spokeswoman Carol Harrison-Lafayette<\/a>. \u201cThe decision he made, taking the gun, we\u2019re not justifying that. That was not right. But he was trying to protect himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are numerous school shootings that have occurred across this country which are tragic. All school shootings are tragic,\u201d Kim T. Cole, a civil rights attorney representing the family, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/10\/07\/suspected-texas-high-school-shooter-released-from-jail\/\">exhorted to the press<\/a>. \u201cHowever, in this situation, this was not someone who was just out to go and shoot a school and had made up their mind [and said,] \u2018You know hey I\u2019m upset and I\u2019m just going to shoot anyone I see.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was not the situation here. So I request the media correct their narrative with regard to what happened, and that you all respect the family\u2019s privacy,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>No white family could\u2019ve gotten away with these public statements if their child did a mass shooting. They would\u2019ve received a flood of online harassment and media denunciations. You\u2019re not supposed to claim your kid, who just shot several people, is a lovely boy who did it to protect himself. But that rule apparently doesn\u2019t apply to black school shooters.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s noteworthy the family turned to a civil rights attorney to defend Simpkins over a school shooting. Did systemic racism somehow drive him to go on a shooting spree? It\u2019s also noteworthy that she implies this wasn\u2019t a typical school shooting, but it actually resembles the typical mass shooting. Most mass shooters are black, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/05\/23\/us\/americas-overlooked-gun-violence.html\">according to a 2016 New York Times report<\/a>, and the vast majority of them are not the work of some deranged loner murdering people at random. They\u2019re mostly gang-related or the result of brawls\u2014as was the case for Simpkins.<\/p>\n<p>There are cases of whites who resorted to a gun to defend themselves against actual threats. Unlike Mr. Simpkins, they got the book thrown at them. Kyle Rittenhouse was hit with murder charges and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/11\/20\/us\/kyle-rittenhouse-kenosha-shooting-bail-release\/index.html\">$2 million bail<\/a> after he gunned down three men who attacked him during the Kenosha riot last year. You <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/facebooks-rittenhouse-mistake-11599260134\">can face censorship<\/a> on major tech platforms for daring to show support for that young man. Meanwhile, several people are openly supporting Simpkins on Twitter, even though there is far less evidence to support his act of violence.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Women love the right kind of school shooter. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LeH9Y6Hngr\">https:\/\/t.co\/LeH9Y6Hngr<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wrpnksaTo6\">pic.twitter.com\/wrpnksaTo6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Marty (@SimDisrespecter) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SimDisrespecter\/status\/1445853727974313984?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 6, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Simpkins\u2019s ridiculous defense may work in George Floyd\u2019s America. Authorities now work hard to ensure black criminals escape justice. If Simpkins had committed this shooting in Chicago, it may have been categorized as \u201cmutual combat\u201d and charges would have been dropped. Cook County State\u2019s Attorney Kim Foxx (you might remember her from her infamous role in the Jussie Smollett hate hoax) <a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.cbslocal.com\/2021\/10\/05\/cook-county-prosecutors-deadly-shootout-stabbing-no-felony-charges-mutual-combat\/\">dropped charges against gangbangers<\/a> who engaged in a bloody gun battle last week under this curious legal doctrine. This could set a new legal precedent for progressive prosecutors everywhere. Just let these magical citizens shoot each other in peace.<\/p>\n<p>Simpkins may also have a shot with the claim that being frightened justifies shooting. A black man in South Carolina was able to beat a murder charge in July with this defense. The man, Devon Dunham, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.islandpacket.com\/news\/local\/crime\/article251701818.html\">admitted to shooting and killing 77-year-old Ernest Stevens<\/a>, a retired fire chief, as the white victim sat alone in his vehicle one summer morning. The defendant simply claimed the white victim startled him and that was good enough reason for the jury to acquit.<\/p>\n<p>Simpkins may still face punishment for his crimes, but he\u2019s already received far more lenient treatment that could be expected for any other mass shooter. He was spotted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10069931\/Arlington-shooter-Timothy-Simpkins-pulled-gun-backpack-classroom-brawl.html?ito=social-twitter_mailonline\">partying with family<\/a> as soon as he left jail. A white kid who opened fire and wounded multiple people at a school would never see the outside of a jail cell for a very long time.<\/p>\n<p><em>Scott M.
