{"id":237207,"date":"2021-06-25T08:07:27","date_gmt":"2021-06-25T08:07:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=237207"},"modified":"2021-06-26T05:52:07","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T05:52:07","slug":"russia-releases-video-of-british-warships-incursion-into-waters-near-crimea-clearly-contradicting-londons-version-of-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=237207","title":{"rendered":"Russia releases VIDEO of British warship\u2019s incursion into waters near Crimea, clearly contradicting London\u2019s version of events"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>RT \u2013 June 24, 2021<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" title=\"FSB publishes VIDEO of negotiations between Russian border guards and British warship HMS Defender\" src=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/embed\/vgdqd9\/?pub=4#?secret=YuOtEXNbXd\" data-secret=\"YuOtEXNbXd\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Russia has released a video showing a coast guard vessel warning the HMS Defender that it was violating its state border and firing warning shots at the British warship, challenging London\u2019s assertions about Wednesday&#8217;s encounter.<\/p>\n<p>The short clip, released on Thursday by Russia\u2019s Federal Security Bureau (FSB), shows the confrontation between a patrol ship and the ironically named Royal Navy destroyer that sailed past Cape Fiolent, near the Crimean city of Sevastopol on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf you don\u2019t change course to starboard, I will fire,\u201d<\/em> the coast guard vessel officer radioes the British destroyer, warning the warship it was about to violate Russian territorial waters.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Footage released by Moscow, this evening, appears to suggest Russia is telling the truth about yesterday&#39;s Black Sea face-off, and the British are lying. <\/p>\n<p>In it, Russian forces repeatedly demand that the Brits leave their waters and, after several warnings, fire warning shots. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gruC73MVUj\">pic.twitter.com\/gruC73MVUj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Bryan MacDonald (@27khv) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/27khv\/status\/1408123009869680646?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 24, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cYou must immediately leave the territorial sea of Russian Federation,\u201d<\/em> comes the second warning. Then the captain is heard issuing the orders, in Russian. <em>\u201cFire warning shots. DO NOT, repeat NOT hit the <\/em>Defender<em>. Confirm, over.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Moscow has also claimed that at least one interceptor aircraft also dropped bombs onto the Defender\u2019s course, careful not to hit the invading ship.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, London officially\u00a0declared\u00a0that <em>\u201cno warning shots have been fired at HMS <\/em>Defender<em>,\u201d<\/em> and the ship was simply <em>\u201cconducting innocent passage through Ukrainian territorial waters in accordance with international law.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The UK considers Crimea \u2013 a historically Russian peninsula that was reabsorbed by Moscow following a 2014 referendum\u00a0\u2013\u00a0to be still\u00a0part of Ukraine. The strategically vital region, which is overwhelmingly ethnically Russian, was signed over to Kiev, in 1954, while both countries were part of a union state. The move was made for both practical and symbolic reasons by Nikita Khrushchev, who had grown up in the Donbass.<\/p>\n<p>The supposedly \u201c<em>innocent passage<\/em>\u201d was <em>\u201ca deliberate move to make a point to Russia,<\/em>\u201d according to Jonathan Beale, a BBC military correspondent who was on board the destroyer.<\/p>\n<p>The Royal Navy\u2019s provocation came just a day after Russia marked 80 years since the invasion of the Soviet Union by Nazi Germany and its allies in 1941.
