A new video showing New York City police officers patrolling with a robot dog has drawn flak from various sectors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The video<\/a> shows\u00a0New York Police Department<\/em> (NYPD) officers exiting a\u00a0public housing building in Manhattan on Monday, April 12, with\u00a0a 70-pound robotic\u00a0dog outfitted with lights, cameras and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

The officers had\u00a0come to the building to apprehend a man who they said\u00a0had a gun and had been hiding in an apartment with a woman and her baby. But according to the officers on the scene, the robot dog had only stayed in the lobby and did not play an active role\u00a0in the operation.<\/p>\n

The sighting of the robot do was met with outrage. Many bystanders during the operation were audibly voicing their displeasure at the robot.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat the f***\u00a0is this is the exact right reaction,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0New York Times<\/em> journalist Kara Swisher in a reply to the original tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Even the person filming the video can be heard saying, \u201cI ain\u2019t never seen nothing like this in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
