{"id":230998,"date":"2021-04-03T17:02:33","date_gmt":"2021-04-03T17:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=230998"},"modified":"2021-04-05T07:12:04","modified_gmt":"2021-04-05T07:12:04","slug":"when-islam-and-judaism-make-friends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=230998","title":{"rendered":"When Islam and Judaism Make Friends\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Gilad Atzmon \u2013 gilad.co.uk April 3, 2021<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>On Thursday evening at 8pm, every Israeli news channel broadcasted live primetime televised speech delivered by the new Israeli kingmaker, Mansour Abbas, the Leader of the Israeli Islamic party, Ra\u2019am.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RSemTYd-Ahw\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n( <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/RSemTYd-Ahw\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/RSemTYd-Ahw<\/a>)&#8212;<\/div>\n<h4>\u201cNow is the time for change,\u201d the conservative Muslim leader told his Hebrew-speaking audience, in Hebrew.<\/h4>\n<h4>Abbas seems to be the only one who can save Netanyahu\u2019s political future. He knows it and uses the moment to deliver a message of reconciliation and coexistence.<\/h4>\n<h4>\u201cI carry a prayer of hope, and the search for coexistence based on mutual respect and genuine equality,\u201d Abbas told his Jewish listeners. \u201cWhat we have in common is greater than what divides us.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4>The history of the Israeli Arab conflict reveals that it is always the Arabs who lead <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/this-day-in-history\/israel-egyptian-peace-agreement-signed\"><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">dramatic reconciliatory moves<\/span><\/a> and it is only right-wing governments that can positively react to such moves.<\/h4>\n<h4>Abbas isn\u2019t the first Palestinian to advocate the idea of coexistence and possible reconciliation. <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LVXN6EiqKFY\">In 1974, Yasser Arafat<\/a> <\/span>stood in front of the UN Assembly offering an olive branch to Israel and its supporters. He urged his listeners, \u201cdo not let this branch fall from my hand.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4>The Israeli-Arab communist party Hadash has been preaching the value of coexistence for decades, however within the context of the vanishing Israeli Left, their voice has had close to zero impact on Israeli politics.<\/h4>\n<h4>Abbas knows that he is in a pivotal and historic position. He knows that many Israeli Arabs are behind him and he wants to materialise the power they bestowed on him.<\/h4>\n<h4>\u201cI, Mansour Abbas, a man of the Islamic Movement, am a proud Arab and Muslim, a citizen of the state of Israel, who heads the leading, biggest political movement in Arab society.\u201d Abbas told the Israelis, \u2018forgetting\u2019 to mention that he is also a Palestinian.<\/h4>\n<h4>Many Palestinians, Israeli-Arabs and peace lovers see Abbas as a <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\"><a style=\"color: #ffff00;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.al-monitor.com\/originals\/2021\/03\/israel-arabs-ayman-odeh-mansour-abbas-benjamin-netanyahu.html\">\u201ctraitor.\u201d<\/a><\/span> I actually believe that not many Palestinian leaders have been as shrewd as him. \u00a0I can assure you that a potential Netanyahu government dependent on Abbas\u2019 support is not going to drop bombs on Gaza. It will think twice before it sends its American made planes to attack Syria and it may even stop pushing for a war against Iran. I am actually pretty excited by the idea of a right-wing Israeli government committed to the appeasement of Mr. Abbas.<\/h4>\n<h4>But some Israeli Jews were also upset by Abbas\u2019 speech. Religious Zionist party leader MK Bezalel Smotrich said on Friday that his party will not sit in a government dependent on any support from Ra\u2019am. On Thursday night, just after Abbas\u2019 televised speech, Smotrich reportedly refused to communicate with Netanyahu.\u00a0 It is important to mention that Ra\u2019am have also ruled out a coalition with the Religious Zionist party.<\/h4>\n<h4>And here is the most spectacular news about Abbas and his initiative. The Orthodox Jewish parties clearly prefer bonding with a Muslim party over the Israeli Identitarian Left. Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, the senior ultra-Orthodox spiritual leader of the United Torah Judaism alliance, declared yesterday that Ra\u2019am is more than a legitimate party. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/top-ultra-orthodox-rabbi-said-to-prefer-coalition-that-relies-on-arabs-over-left\/\"><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">rabbi reportedly announced<\/span> that<\/a> \u201cas far as safeguarding Jewish tradition is concerned, it is better to go with the representatives of the Arab public, than with the representatives from the left.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4>Those who follow the shift in the Israeli society in the last five decades have noticed that religion is a growing factor within both the shrinking Jewish majority and the growing Arab minority. In both Jewish and Arab societies it is religion that produce the answers that were left unresolved by the big ideologies, Zionism, Israeliness and the so-called \u2018Left alternative.\u2019<\/h4>\n<h4>I guess that if the fear of the Left in its current Identitarian rendition is enough to bridge the divide between Islam and Judaism, maybe identiterianism isn\u2019t such a bad thing after all; it is\u00a0certainly a harmonious catalyst.<\/h4>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center; padding-left: 40px;\">Thanks for supporting Gilad&#8217;s battle for truth and justice.<\/h2>\n<h4 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">My battle for truth involves a serious commitment and some substantial expenses.
