I do think all rich countries should move to 100% synthetic beef.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Burping cows bred for beef are a massive contributor to emissions of the potent greenhouse gas methane, which has reached record levels <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/burping-cows-drive-record-methane-emissions-12028943\">according to research<\/a><\/strong> published last July.<\/p>\n<p>The amount of methane in the atmosphere grew massively between 2000 and 2017, leading to what researchers believe could be a global warming increase of up to four degrees Celsius by the end of the century.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/rich-countries-should-eat-synthetic-beef-says-bill-gates-12219763\">Continues \u2026<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As Ice Age Farmer explains, the Guardian appears to be campaigning for the shutdown of animal agriculture.
