It\u2019s only right that our city&#39;s statues, street names and landmarks reflect London&#39;s rich and diverse history and represent Londoners from all walks of life.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mayor of London (gov.uk\/coronavirus) (@MayorofLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MayorofLondon\/status\/1359080529044377604?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 9, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Khan has said that it isn\u2019t the intention of the commission to pull down statues, but merely to \u2018raise public understanding\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>And that \u2018understanding\u2019 is seemingly that practically every statue, street name, and memorial in London is racist.<\/p>\n<p>One of the members is a man called Toyin Agbetu, who previously vandalised a statue of Robert Geffrye, a former London mayor with links to the slave trade, with red paint in an effort to symbolise the \u2018blood on his hands\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission also includes an art critic by the name of Aindrea Emelife, who previously expressed supported for BLM activists who pulled down a statue of Edward Colston last year.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the Commission is actor Riz Ahmed, who appeared in <em>Star Wars: Rogue One<\/em>. It isn\u2019t clear why he should be on a commission reviewing landmarks in London, but he did once call Prime Minister Boris Johnson \u201can out-and-out complete c*nt\u201d who is \u201covertly racist\u201d\u2026 so that\u2019s why apparently.<\/p>\n<p>Another member is Lynette Nabbosa who <a href=\"https:\/\/nabbosa.medium.com\/black-history-month-uk-present-dae158b822d6\">constantly pens articles about how racist Britain is<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Nabbosa previously wrote that \u201cIt was the UK\u2019s racism that birthed slavery and colonialism. Previous choices have included a big thumb, a naked pregnant disabled woman, and a big blue cock.<\/p>\n<p>The current statue residing there is a dollop of whipped cream with an assortment of toppings, including a cherry, a fly, and a\u00a0drone which films passers-by and displays them on an attached screen.<\/p>\n<p>So, you can see where this is likely leading.<\/p>\n<p>Laughably, London City Hall has claimed that the panel was selected through an \u2018open recruitment process\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Conservative candidate for London Mayor, Shaun Bailey responded to the announcement with a statement noting that \u201cA commission of fifteen unelected activists should not get to decide which statues to pull down and which streets to rename \u2014 which history my children are allowed to see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The British public is not impressed:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It should be the public who make decisions on any changes to our towns.
