Introduction \u2013 Jan 2, 2021<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Politicians from all sides of the political spectrum are repeating the official narrative. While the media echoes exactly the same lines fed to them without question, as if they were official government mouthpieces.<\/h4>\n

The Daily Mail is one of those outlets and its report on the New Year\u2019s Eve Covid protest is instructive.<\/h4>\n

The Mail doesn\u2019t talk to any of the protesters or ask them why they are protesting. In this way it avoids revealing the reasons behind the protest, because the protesters might explain that:<\/h4>\n

–> Covid-19 has a low mortality rate, which appears to be only marginally more severe than seasonal cold and flu. In Japan, for example, more people died from suicide in October 2020<\/a> than from Covid-19 for the whole year<\/a><\/span>.<\/h4>\n

–> Suspicions are also growing that the number of those who have actually died from Covid-19 may have been inflated<\/a><\/span>.<\/h4>\n

–> Compounding doubts about the official fatality rate are reports that other causes of death, like motorcycle accidents<\/span><\/a>, poisoning and heart attacks<\/a><\/span>, are being listed as due to Covid-19.<\/h4>\n

Instead of asking demonstrators why they were protesting the Mail quotes people like Piers Morgan, who condemns the protestors out of hand.<\/h4>\n

In other words this is propaganda, in that it smears all those who hold contrary views without analysing why they hold such views.<\/h4>\n

This is not to say that Covid-19 isn\u2019t real and that it does not pose a threat to health, particularly for the very old and frail. But the magnitude of the threat has been massively inflated while sensible, rational debate about Covid-19 has been suppressed by the authorities and media outlets like the Mail. Ed.<\/h4>\n
